History
- Started as a waystation for merchants between Port Kari (and the Western portion of Braga) and the NW region.
- To avoid going around the Dersevain Mountains, merchants would take the short trip through the Rassolee Bay to the cradle of the mountains, disembark, set up camp, and continue on.
- After a while, some set up shop right there for migrants traveling the same way.
- Legend has it that a very powerful mage passed through the waystation to approach the mountains themselves from the North. Though people found it strange at the time, most had forgotten about him once he was out of sight…until he returned two months later, intent on building a city. He had all the plans worked out. He’d even contacted a settlement of dwarves in the mountains to do the building. Before long, the Great Library was founded and the mage began work on getting the schools up and running. No one remembers his name, but images of a faceless mage still adorn the city in paintings, statues, and stained glass windows.
- The city of Spinegate has always allowed merchants to use the docks and mostly whatever they needed to keep the waystation functional.
