Tokled (/'tɑk.lɛd/)

Tokled is a chain of volcanic islands that marks the extreme eastern edge of explored ocean. The distance between Tokled and the Middle Isles prevented its being found by any exploratory fleet; instead, its existence was calculated based on disturbances in the trade winds that suggested tall peaks were interfering with the flow of air masses. A pair of ships voyaged to the location to confirm the islands were there, and brought back reports of a sapient species who built devices capable of powered flight, a technology the Middle Isles did not possess. The Allied Isles sent a crew to establish a liaison outpost on Tokled's largest island and see about negotiating a trade deal. Sabotage from an unknown source interfered with the process; both parties blamed each other for deaths on each side. The resolution achieved by Water Seekers marked one of the early great achievements by the New Eddy.

Geography

The islands of Tokled are a chain extending from a volcanic hot spot. Three are still large enough to support a tkevsa population, and one is erupting from the ocean.
