Session 51: The Eternal Cycle

General Summary

Freedom, at long last...

The Wandering Apocalypse continue their fight with Strahd von Zarovich, slowly gaining the upper hand. Multiple party members drop, exhaustion slowly getting the better of them, when Darzin comes bursting from the shadows, behind him the wails of two women scorned. He holds his Holy Symbol of Ravenkind high up in the air, shedding a binding light upon Strahd and paralyzing his very muscles. Fidchell, seeing his chance, draws upon the last slivers of his exhausted body to send forth his weapons, and he pierces through and decapitates the vampire lord. Strahd von Zarovich collapses to the ground before turning into mist.
A frantic search for the coffin continues. A good thing that they are already in the crypts of Ravenloft. Inscriptions are read and doors are thrown open, none bearing the body they seek. Before long however Darzin comes upon a crypt that just oozes evil, and is clearly the right place to be. Together they walk in and find themselves a black coffin.
They all gather around the coffin, push off the lid, and hold on to one stake. Rather awkwardly, considering there's quite a few people here. Nevertheless, with one mighty cry they stake the incapacitated vampire through the heart. Strahd von Zarovich turns to dust before their eyes. They are free from Barovia.
