Session 39: My robotic friend and me

General Summary

New plan, we should probably get out of the very evil temple.

The Wandering Apocalypse continued on in the Amber Temple , trying to find the sword foretold in their destinies. It is a shame that their destiny is so intertwined with misfortune. Having looted the poor mage for his valuables, the party continues on, heading back to the hole in the featureless room they had found before. Zana volunteered to go down, and quickly returned to notify that it was safe. They climbered down and found themselves surrounding by amber sarcophagi, shadows faintly moving inside of them. They quickly left by dispelling the lock on the door, heading down the hallway. After checking out a long-forgotten bedroom, they came upon a second door, in it standing a long-forgotten and deactivated automaton. Andrius, having swiped the mage’s necklace, took a while to connect the dots together, but as the quarter fell Beefcake was born. Onward they went, and soon reached the main temple hall, finding a pair of locked amber doors. These too quickly fell to a dispel magic, showing a grand treasure room inside, with thousands of coins and other treasures, as well as a big, amber statue. Considering their previous experience with piles of treasure, they didn’t even take a glance at it, instead beelining for the cracks in the wall in the back. In this room they did decide to check out the old wooden boxes. As all such boxes in Barovia contain vampire spawn, these did too. A fight ensued, but with the power of sunlight itself worn by @Gix, the spawn stood no chance. The whispers in this room however proved too strong for some, as both Zana and Ansgar Tyr succumbed to the promises of power.
