Savvies & Ineptitudes
Has studied a lot of books regarding the withering, as well as books related to magical effects and curses as part of his apprenticeship to his master, and is thus very well read on history and arcane subjects.
While he is very book-read, he currently lacks a lot of practical experience in the subjects he knows a lot about.
Social
Contacts & Relations
Enna, being a potion maker and scholar, sometimes gets visits from people looking for cures for or information about magical concoctions. One such visit was from a shifter by the name of Vidth, who had unwittingly drunk a concoction known as the Hunter’s Bane. This potion had given Vidth powers, but had also affected his shifter powers, leading to him no longer being able to control his transformations. Enna was able to help him out some in regards to controlling his transformation, but did not know of any way to cure the effects of the Hunter’s Bane. Enna promised to give him information if any would come up. Elyrion has spoken to Vidth, and knows that he has grown up in Wittering, and often takes on missions and other tasks for money. Vidth could be a good ally to have when exploring the city and its depths
Bear, The Shifter Barbarian
Being a scholar specialized in obscure magical phenomena, Elyrion’s Master often got requests to share her knowledge with people from far and wide. One such request came from the Elders of a sect called the Wardens of the Wood. The Wardens had contacted them regarding the “Accursed Archives”, an immense collection of arcane and eldritch writings that is said to be able to be accessed from tomes and libraries around the world, if one is unlucky enough to find them. A member of the wardens, a shifter woman called Bear, had been whisked away into the archives, and had come back with eldritch knowledge, which she now sought to master. While Enna could not provide much information, she had offered to let Bear travel with Elyrion and Oda on their journey, hoping to both be able to help the woman, as well as possibly gleaning insight into the withering from Bear’s newfound knowledge.
Elyrion is fascinated by the fact that Bear has entered the archives and come back alive. Maybe the archives might hold information regarding both the withering, as well as the words of creation and the dark speech?
Ansgar, The Vedalken Warlock
Elyrion knows Ansgar through his master Enna. Ansgar once visited Enna to share information about the withering, and during that visit, Elyrion got to know Ansgar a bit. Elyrion knows Ansgar has travelled much and would be a good ally for further researching the withering of the land.
Oda Mountainfoot, The Halfling Hunter
Oda Mountainfoot is a member of the winterfolk halfling tribe of Hillsburrow, who have traded with Enna for a long while back. Enna provides information about potionmaking to the tribe, and in return, they provide her with food, furs, and sometimes rare ingredients. During his stay with Enna, Elyrion came to know Oda, who often came together with other tribe members to learn. Oda turned out to have a knack for potion- and poulticemaking, as opposed to Elyrion, and was thus taught by Enna, who enjoyed having at least one eager pupil. Elyrion grew to like Oda, who was very much the opposite of him in many ways. While Elyrion was often holed up in his hut, studying highly theoretical information, Oda was highly practical, hunting together with her tribe, as well as travelling in the woods. The two often traded stories and information, Oda telling Elyrion about what it was like travelling the woods and mountains, as well as teaching him how to aim a crossbow, while Elyrion shared the information about herbs and animals he had read from various tomes belonging to his master. When Enna told the Hillsburrow halflings about the worsening of the withering afflicting the Island, Oda was more than eager to help and travel with Elyrion.
Elyrion appreciates Oda’s company, and sees her as a trusted friend, with invaluable practical knowledge about the island and living in the wilderness.
Family Ties
A minor noble of the fey court, Quelenna once went on a "walk" and came back a good couple of months later, pregnant with Elyrion ("It turned out to be a long walk", was her comment when she came back). Occasionally visited Enna and Elyrion, and taught Elyrion how to play various musical instruments, such as the Pan Pipes, the Thelarr, and the Viol.
Father: Unknown
Elyrion's Father is unknown to him. His mother has never spoken to Elyrion about him. Elyrion presumes that his father is human, but he could possibly be a half-elf, or any other sort of humanlike race.
Master: Enna Liadon
While not actually being related by blood, Enna tutored and raised Elyrion from his third birthday up until he left with Oda to further research the withering. Elyrion admires Enna, and has spent most of his life assisting her with research regarding the withering. Enna taught Elyrion the fundamentals of magic. Elyrion feels indebted to Enna
Relationships
History
Oda's point of view:
Oda has got to know Elyrion through his master and teacher, Enna. During her visits on business of her tribe, she often came into contact with Elyrion, who helped Enna with the tasks that were asked of her. Oda enjoyed Elyrion's company, as he was very different and foreign to her. She has always been attracted to things that weren't like the village life and during conversations they got to know each other better. She learned some things and forgot many more quickly, but what grew the friendship the most was their shared concern about the withering effect that the lands are suffering from.
Oda doesn't know the specifics, as this is all very technical, but Enna has prophetised that her tribe will be unable to live in the same place for more than a generation, due to a sudden spread of the withering effect. And this needs to be prevented, of course.
When it became clear that Elyrion was sent to further investigate this phenomenon, Oda decided to travel along and they made their way to the great city of Wittering.
