Heimdall

Gatekeeper of the Bi-frost

Heimdall is a central piece in the story of this campaign. He is the one who designed the 9 trials that make up the main quest of the campaign, and during his lifetime served as one the most influential characters in the Aesir social circle. He held high status and wealth, as well as the ear of the royal family and partial command of the military. Heimdall continues to stand in legend as the ultimate dichotomy of might and wisdom.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Heimdall was the guardian of the Bifrost gates. He oversaw everything that came and went through them and warded off any threats with his legendary sword, Horfund. Heimdall was selected for this crucial position because of his abilities to see and hear beyond physical limits. Heimdall’s father was an Aesir merchant, but his mother, was a Venir. The combination of both Worldsouls is what allowed him to see and hear what went on in any of the nine worlds, and why he was given the second of the only two master keys to the Bifrost. The first was Odin’s spear, the second, was Horfund. The blade itself was forged with alloys from both Vanaheim and Valhalla, which amplified Heimdall’s abilities, and enabled him to view everything that transpired between Loki, Hel and the Giants. However, he told no one. Heimdall was wise enough to know that Ragnarök was sealed in time long ago and that there was nothing he could do to avert the coming disaster. He also knew firsthand of the severe corruption and crimes that had poisoned the Aesir elite and made a mockery of the principles the Aesir once stood for.
