Mages have the strongest magic of all the mortal races, yet the seeking of power over weeker creatures is a taboo to them. Insead they often spend their exremely long lives acquiring knwoledge and wisdom.
Living on the far islands of the south-eastern sea they are out of reach for the godking , yet they always respectfully send a representative to The Council .
When during one of the council meetings an old case shows up, concerning the late arrival of the wizards to the fights during the great demonwar, the deep suspicion and greed of the humans for the wizard´s power reaches a new hight. The wizards try to explain how they first had to stop theyir islands from movin further and further from the mainland. BUt their refusal to give a detailed account of the protecive spells the human suspicion is not allayed.

Civilization and Culture

History

During the greater part of the first Order, there were no islands of the south-eastern sea , but was part of the mainland. Yet in he last years of the Long Peace, the devil directed a great part of his power into an assault on the mages. The force of the devils magic colliding with the extensive protective spells casted by the mages was so great it shattered the earth and rock itself. If not for the protective spells this land and all its inhabitants would have surely been destroyed completely. But instead a great strech of land west of first haven bay broke from the mainland and was cast out far into the sea.
The mages, immensely shaken and their protective spells weakened took a while to orientate. And when finally they had realised what had happened they still had to build ships to sail back to the mainland as they expected further evil deeds from the devil and feared for the other races.
