Red rock mountains

The red rock mountains are a large range of mountains branching away westward from the sundering mountains. For 400 to 500 miles - depending on the point one starts to measure, this mountain range stands out through its base stone, which is red sand stone

Geography

The mountain range is part of the northern border between the great desert and the fertile lands. As such, the northern side is mostly wooded with coniferous trees. It´s rivers join and will later form one of the confluences of the river rhous.

On the southern side the mountains are bare with no soil covering the bare rock. The streams running down on this side will become the red river.

especially on the southern side, the mountain sides are steep, in places sheer drops for hundrets of feet.

Tourism

The only place worth cisiting in these mountains appear to be the ancient stone temples that have been discovered high up the mountain slopes, many of them cut of from foot acces. Altough they are solely foun on the southern opening valleys and are thus exposed to the dry and sandy storms from the desert, their faces are little touched and still well preserved. Ancient runes can be found within. The meaning of both temples and runes have not yet been discovered.
