ound during the The Tectonic Shift of the New Realm towards the end of the Tumultuous years, this metal is unique to the New Realm. The metal has a shimmering blue hue with hints of silver and folk widely use it in society.

Name Origin

T

hey named the metal after the Mesopotamian God called Enki. He was the god of subterranean water and also known for wisdom, magic, incantations, arts, and crafts. The folk named the metal after Enki because of its beautiful blue colour that is like the ocean. They associated the metal as a turning point in creating crafts, metalwork, and smallware and believed that the Fates revealed their wisdom when they revealed the metal.

Uses

his metal is truly a universal metal. Not only is it an excellent conductor for heat, making it a perfect choice for cooking, it is also incredibly strong. Enki is a malleable metal that folk can form into door handles and hinges. Folk also form enki into metal rods, window frames, nails for ships and other useful equipment. Additionally, enki is a sturdy metal for armour and shields, swords, axes and metal tips for arrows. Shipbuilders plate hulls with enki for added protection. The folk of the New Realm consider enki so important that artisans created the first king's crown out of it.

raftsman melted and wielded enki to make marriage necklaces, which varied from simple to complex. The more ornate the necklace was, the more valuable. This represented rank and nobility.

he unified religion has used enki in creating beautiful religious relics to adorn the altars. Items include chalices, candle holders, ornate plates, and metal artwork. Most notably, is the use of enki in creating bells and sound bowls, as enki is sonorous and produces a deep or ringing sound when struck. Many folk own bells in their home to signify the beginning and ending of their prayers.

ost mines that produce enki are operated by the Brotherhood of Dragons. They were the original founders of the beautiful metal. Merchants transport Enki throughout the Realm through shipping routes and tradesman.
