Millennia ago, mythical creatures lived alongside humans. But the humans came to reject their beast-like companions. To hide themselves, a spell was cast and they became like the humans around them; no one could tell the difference. Soon even they came to forget who they were.   In an indeterminate future, plague and war has all but destroyed humanity. Only a few civilizations managed to survive: isolated communities far from where the bombs landed, the lucky few who spent generations hiding in enormous bunkers, and the descendants of those who donned their human disguises so long ago.   Now, those who were hidden show themselves once again, rising to reclaim their places in a world that has forgotten humanity and grows itself anew.
