HC-111 Atom Tractor

The HC-111 is a nuclear powered tractor designed by Hengsha Corn and built by its subsidiary HHC Heavy Industry. The HC-111 was primarily produced with the specific needs of Hengsha Corn and was therefore designed primarily around Supermaize as the crop to be sown, tended, and harvested. However, it is more versatile and is useful in the agricultural production of most cereal plants, and can be reconfigured for use with other crops. The HC-111 though primarily used on Chang-Er has also been exported to a number of systems throughout Civilized Space and the Pardian frontier and is a competitor with the SBT Type 482 and Type 417 combine tractors for the most commonly used harvester in the Pardian Sector
The HC-111 is very large for a combine tractor, with a mass of 150 tons, and with a wheelbase spanning almost 400 square meters across. At its heart is a nuclear reactor one that utilizes technology imported to the Chang-Er System where most of the HC-111 units are manufactured. This reactor provides power for the massive power train. Underneath are the mechanisms of a combine harvester. The HC-111 has onboard, a large crew compartment, and almost always tows a purpose built trailer with sowing equipment during the earliest part of the season. The components of the HC-111 are very well manufactured, and are, by design intended to ensure that the vehicle can operate for days, or weeks without any interruption, a necessity on the highly centralized super farms of its manufacturer.
The HC-111 is primarily utilized by Hengsha Corn for the purposes of operating the Supermaize farms of Chang-Er. However, it has found use on a number of other farms throughout the neighboring systems. The HC-111 is a very well constructed black box, which has been used by commercial agriculture areas throughout the Pariah Sector. Some independent farms have made use of the HC-111, but for the most part, a construct of this size is the province of larger operations.
