The Cobras
Biker gang
Culture
Their culture is a mix of their pre-conflux biker gang past and their long time as a traveling raiding gang. They have made almost a religion around the engine. The Cobras treat their vehicles like they are living things, like something that needs to be appeased and respected. They have invented rituals to appease the spirit of the engine they believe is in every working vehicle. And considering how the world is after the confluence it's entirely possible that there is some kind of spirit that the Cobras have made a deal with and now lives in their vehicles.
History
The Cobras was once a pre-conflux small time biker gang mostly responsible for low level crimes like car theft and small level of drug dealing. After the Conflux the Cobras banded together becoming a nomadic gang traveling to place to place looting junk yards, settlements, homesteads, and towns to gather food, water, gas, weapons, vehicles, scrap, anything to keep their convoy going. Over time after gathering many more vehicles and heavily modified them too be bettered armored and weaponized the Cobras turned their convoy into a traveling war machine. The Cobras would come into towns like a plague of locusts where they would loot everything of value and burn the rest leaving the town smoldering and lifeless. It wasn't until the godfather of the Commission found out about them and made the Cobras a deal, finding their skills with driving and vehicle modification would make them a great asset to Luxury Meadows.
Territories
The Cobras are based out of the Nuts-and-bolts parking facility and mechanic shop. The Nuts and bolts were once a large parking facility where the wealthy residents paid to store their expensive cars or get them fix or modified. The Nuts-and-bolts parking facility was mostly an underground parking garage that connected to it was a large mechanic were anyone paying could get any work that can be needed or want done.
The Cobras have moved into the Nuts-and-bolts parking facility and have renamed it the snake nest. The Cobras have setup in the snake nest and have made it their home going as far as digging a hole in the ground as a fighting pit and they have made many shrines to the spirits of the engine. With there mechanics shop the Commission has given the Cobras all the tools and parts they can want so in-exchange the Cobras can not only go on raids but also fix and modify their vehicles.
Mythology & Lore
The Cobras believe that in their vehicles there are spirits that need to be appeased to keep the engine working in good order. And the master of these spirits and the one that needs to be appeased the most is a fire spirit named Diesel. The fire spirit Diesel is supposed to be a great serpent made of asphalt that spits flaming tar. The Cobras also believe that long ago when the confluence happened their boss made a deal with the fire serpent Diesel. Diesel would give the Cobras power to protect themselves in the new dark age in exchange for the power the Cobras will obey Diesel and pay offerings to it. From that day every boss of the Cobras has made a pact with Diesel.
Worship
The cobras will often fight with one another in a hole that they dug in the ground that they called the snake pit. Fighting in the snake pit serves a few purposes first it is a form of entertainment, next it is a way for the Cobras to test their strength to get respect in the gang, next it is how Cobras settle disputes within their gang and last and most important for them is that they believe fighting in the snake pit appease the spirits of the engine. The fights in the snake pit are fought without weapons and go on until someone is either dead, gives up or cannot keep going.
Another way to appease the spirits of the engines is giving them offerings of blood by sacrificing animals or their captives believing their blood feed the spirit Diesel. The Cobras have also made a large metal statue of the great fire serpent Diesel and will regularly pay offerings of blood and gas to it.
