Order of Kansen
The Order of Kansen is the core governing body of the Kanite people. Claiming ultimate divine authority, they seek to expand their influence across the Myriad Worlds to promote the God Madir.
Structure
The Order of Kansen is led by a series of officials chosen during Atonia by Madir. Offices held only by Avatars of Madir are noted with an asterisk:
Members of the Illuminata Brigada in the story thus far: Argus Murin
Itinerant Diaconate: Itinerant Diaconate squadrons are deployed on worlds that require temporary non-combat guidance. Deacons are to provide for the inhabitants of the world, seek out potential clergy, and teach Madir’s great wisdom to the masses.
Members of the Itinerant Diaconate in the story thus far: Pelamoi Amarenzi (former), Liesel Murin
Bureau of Insight: The Bureau of Insight deploys its Heralds on covert assignments to collect intelligence across enemy lines and relay it back to the Order of Kansen for divine consideration.

Climate Control: The Climate Control Squad regulates meteorological and liminal levels in the atmosphere of established Kanite worlds. Traffic Patrol: Regulate Interworld (Jump Gates, Ink) and intraworld (Auriga, Cavalier) traffic and transit centers, issue pilot licenses and register official auriga vehicles and cavalier mounts from the DMV (Department of Monster Vehicles) and AAA (Auriga Admission Authority). Gives you annoying parking tickets.
Grand Luminary Strommond: Replaced Halcyon upon his abdication, though after the fact many rumors of bribery surfaced around his recommendation. His extremely progressive views caused a rennaissance of Demshul-Kanite trade and relations until his forced abdication after his eighth cycle.
Grand Luminary Zaylin: Current ruler of the Order of Kansen. Very militant against the Demshul threat.
- Grand Luminary*: Chosen directly by Madir during Atonia, the Grand Luminary of the Order of Kansen is responsible for major political decisions.

Terms
Important Kanite officials with ruling capacities serve through one cycle (composed of Theta, Fusum, Delta, and Atonia). Their office is up for review and approval by Madir during Atonia, though commonly an official will serve through several cycles until the other officials strongly recommend a replacement or until they abdicate their position.Relevant Divisions within the Order of Kansen

History
Demshul Relatons
The Order of Kansen has historically fluctuated between progressive and hostile relations with the Queen's Consulate, at its best allowing regulated trade and diplomacy between Kanites and Demshul, at its worst advocating war and destruction of the Demshul threat.Mythology & Lore
From the beginning of Act 9 as relayed by Fedros:
Once upon a time, a twin brother and sister were born. They had unexplained powers over mind and matter. They worked together to create the Myriad Worlds that we all live in.
But one day, the sister turned against the brother in rebellion. She wanted to destroy the Myriad Worlds. Those who chose to follow her lost their feathers and grew wings... like this!
Divine Origins
Luminary Kansen was the first Avatar of Madir, swearing service and devotion to the God. In return, Madir blessed him with lucid power and authority to establish the Order of Kansen. Kansen's followers in the order became known as the Kanites.
Cosmological Views
Kanites believe that twin deities Madir (God of the Mind) and Soronette (Goddess of Matter) created the Myriad Worlds together. Soronette later turned against Madir for unknown reasons, but Madir's followers continue his work to habitate the worlds they created.
Tenets of Faith
Kansen's tenets can fluctuate depending on the Grand Luminary, but service to Madir and recognition and servitude to him is always at the core.
- Preservation: The Myriad Worlds are creations of God and must be preserved from destruction or decay to the fullest extent possible (even if they're kinda weird).
- Protection: The Dwellers of the Myriad Worlds are creations of God and must be protected from outside influence and lucidy/liminality fluctuations.
- Provision: Madir is an all-mighty provider, and faith in him will be rewarded by assuring your needs will be met by his organization without struggle or poverty.
Illumination Practices
When Kanites decide to officially play a custodial role in a world, it will go through a process called Illumination, where Kanite churches, institutions and leadership will be impressed upon the world (peacefully or otherwise). Worlds illuminated by the Order of Kansen are renamed with one of the following prefixes:- Dias: A world with higher-than average Lucidity rating
Dias category worlds thus far: Dias Fortuna, Dias Kip, Dias Onda, Dias Korgan - Diem: A world with a neutral Lucidity/Liminality rating
Diem category worlds thus far: Diem Farella - Nocte: A world with a higher-than-averageLiminality rating
Worship
Regular church service, attendance on holidays (especially Atonia), and prayer and deference to Madir and his organization are expected. Choir, sermons, and extremely unsubtle religious publications are all part of church life for the devout.
A typical Kanite will probably only go to church on Atonia, however.

Priesthood
Those touched by Madir's lucidity during a period of Atonia are known as Avatars of Madir. After lucid possession, the Avatar's hair will be permanently changed to a black/white split and their eyes will turn away from standard color to clear and blue.
All Avatars, regardless of official station, are regarded highly in Kanite society and are expected to undergo Ascension training. Additionally, only Avatars are permitted into the upper echelons of the Order of Kansen.

Granted Divine Powers
Avatars of Madir are granted the following powers:
Lucid Possession: All Avatars of Madir (former and new) are possessed and directed by Madir simultaneously during every Atonia. Possessed avatars' heads erupt in divine flame and their voices change to an echoey resonance. After lucid possession, the Avatar's hair will be permanently changed to a black/white split and their eyes will turn blue.
Ascension: Any creature can become lucid, but only human Kanites can go through asecension training to hone their connection with Madir after the fact. Ascension training allows limited but powerful use of lucid magic, including:

Sects
The Order of Kansen's military has three different factions, distinguished by the method of aerial combat deployed by their paladins:
Auriga: Auriga paladins are trained to ride and pilot non-living flying objects. Examples of aurigas include traditional aircrafts as well as magic carpets, beds, and toasters.
Ballista: Ballista paladins are magically enhanced with impact-manipulative tattoo inks for parkour-like maneuvers. They also train with cannons, trebuchets, and other launching apparatuses.
Cavalier: Cavalier paladins are partnered with a flying/hovering/floating creature, usually training in tandem so both learn battle tactics at the same rate. Examples include birds, dragons, pigs, and fish.
Kanites involved in the military are divided between the different sects and responsible for recruiting, training, mentoring, and fighting alongside their paladins.
