Pyro Portals
What Are Pyro Portals?
Types of Thermal Portals
Fire Portals
Fire Portals are naturally occurring Thermal Portals that are made of perpetually burning flames. While the flames themselves are gas, as all flame is, the reason Fire Portals do not connect to the Transitory Plane of Air is due to their temperature causing the gasses that make up the Portal to become incandescent. It is the gaseous state plus the heat and light that results in a gas charged with Flame Energy to become a Fire Portal.
Flame Gates
Flame Gates are artificially created Fire Portals.
Plasma Portals
Plasma Portals are a variety of Fire Portal in which the flames that make up the Fire Portal are also ionized. The reason Plasma Portals lead to the Transitory Plane of Fire instead of the Lightning Plane is because Electro Portals are primarily centered around electrical currents or magnetic fields. Plasma Portals, however, are centered around ionized gasses. It is the state of the materials, not the current running through it, which causes the Flame Energy with which it is charged to generate a Portal to the Transitory Plane of Fire.
Plasma Gates
Plasma Gates are artificially created Plasma Portals. Only a few have been created and only for the purposes of experimentation. A Gate made of plasma is, obviously, not exactly something that is practical to use as a means of accessing the Transitory Plane of Fire.
Magma Portals
Magma Portals are naturally occurring Portals that form in molten materials, with lava flows being where the majority of Magma Portals form. Technically, molten metal can also form a Magma Portal, but as pure molten metal does not occur often outside of a metal refinery, Portals made of molten metal rarely form naturally.
Molten Gates
Molten Gates are artificially created Magma Portals. Because metals are often used to create them (as artificially making magma is not as easy as making molten metal,) artificial Magma Portals are labelled as "Molten Gates" instead of Magma Gates.
