Althos' Divine Realm

Divine realms are the true homes of the gods. They are where the gods are at their strongest. A deity's divine realm is an impregnable fortress where the god can have their truest homes, house their most devoted followers, and live in peace. Each divine realm is unique and gods can even acquire more than one, if they are willing to soak their hands in blood. The blood of their own kind.
-Althos, to an inquiring angel of knowledge, regarding divine realms
Divine realms are unique dimensions that deities lord over and in the ancient past, they were where deities spent the majority of their time. Deities controlled their divine realms absolutely and could change them in any way they saw fit, exercising total control over them and those lucky enough to live in them. Althos' divine realm is a deific imitation of the world of Torus, and it also houses the majority of that world's population.   Althos' divine realm is where the people of the world of Torus, Althos' homeworld, are currently living a strange new life as exiles and as immigrants, following the defeat of their deity at the hands of the tremendously powerful divine ghost who slew Ava and who hunted Althos. That said, not everyone in the divine realm sees their exile as a tragedy to one day be remedied.    Some of the inhabitants of the dimension, led by Isadora Santiago, have decided that their true home is in the dimension, and to view what sages and those close to Althos call "The Dark Exodus" as a strange blessing. They are happy to live in the dimension created by and maintained by their god, and they view their odd home as a paradise where they can live in peace, have families, and follow the rules of, in their eyes anyway, innately just and supreme authority.    It's not just humans and monsters of human-level intelligence who think this either, Isadora's faction has the support of influential angels who are themselves eager Althonites whose fanaticism and devotion was earned when they learned that Althos took in the population of an entire planet into his divine realm. They view their deific savior and master as a kind being and just emperor who created a largely conflict-free divine realm and has bestowed them, his angels, with authority over it and a desire to keep the peace. Which they have done, in his name.

Geography

Althos' divine realm is currently an exact copy of the world of Torus. That means that Torus' four continents, frozen north and south, and vast oceans are all present in the divine realm, as is Althos' flying island home which is where the undisputed capital of the world, Althos' unnamed fortress-city inhabited by angels, is located.

Ecosystem

Torus as a whole had four seasons, and so does Althos' Divine Realm. It also has an imitation of a sun and a moon that, unless someone is Althos, one would be unable to reach no matter how long they flew. The realm's four seasons are an exact mirror of Torus' four seasons, and the weather is quite unique in that it's perfectly predictable.    So long as it's not winter, every other day there is rain and on days when it doesn't rain, there is a perfectly clear sky. It took farmers a period of uncertainty to learn this, but they before half a year in the realm had passed they grew certain of it. It was an easy pattern to pick up on. Althos has heavily encouraged those in the world who were once farmers to farm again, and angels of his, as well as fey, have helped facilitate the emergence of many new druidic orders, including orders to Cosecha, the spirit of the harvest, as well as one of Althos' pseudonyms.

Ecosystem Cycles

The planet has four seasons, each of which lasts 125 days. Years on the divine realm are actually five hundred days long, and there is little use for the old calendar which once existed outside of the realm. The names for the seasons have remained what they were on the outside, summer, winter, spring, and fall, though some proposed changing them to different takes on the name Althos as a show of devotion to him. Surprisingly enough he appeared directly and vetoed that when some people agreed that it was a good idea.    The world has unintelligent animals created by Althos, which are used primarily for food by hunters, though if left alone the animals behave exactly as naturally occurring animals would. This is an especially good thing for the few fallen kingdoms that exist in the divine realm, wherein many people have become feral and now live lives as hunters after society collapsed as a result of changes brought on by the Dark Exodus. Rumors say that some of these hunters are werebeasts of different types, particularly werewolves, who revere Althos in primal and blood-soaked rites that revolve around the sacrifice of their fallen prey.    These animals cannot be hunted to extinction, as whenever they would otherwise be Althos spawns new ones, an act which has been taken as a sign of approval by some of the more skilled hunters.

Localized Phenomena

The single strangest phenomenon of all that has occurred in the divine realm has been noted by some. That phenomenon is that people do not die of natural causes in the realm. It's only been three years since the exodus, so most people can't be sure, but due to Althos' quiet, unannounced intervention, and perhaps his kindness, no one in the realm will die of old age.    Another oddity is that those who die of other causes are promptly resurrected, which is well within Althos' capabilities, but it is normally something he does not do lightly unless performing a miracle. The only deaths that seem to stick are the deaths of criminals who murder someone in the realm unless given permission by Althos himself to do such a killing.    The final local phenomenon that has been observed is that for the most part the aches and pains one felt in the mortal realm, feel less severe in the realm. Althos knowingly, consciously, dampens the discomfort one feels while in the realm. Sicknesses are less severe, hunger bothers someone less, and even pain cannot sting as much as it used to.

Fauna & Flora

The world of Torus, and thus the divine realm of Althos, was a fairly Earth-like planet aside from one odd change: it has no deserts. The flora and fauna is much like one would find on Earth, with the additions of magical beings and even arcane plants.

Natural Resources

An array of resources can be found throughout the divine realm, but no one really needs anything so the world itself isn't exploited. People live in harmony with the world, aside from creatures like the cruel hunters who worship Althos as a lord of death, pain, and gluttony. That said that he doesn't discourage this is also seen as a sign of some level of tacit approval, even if many view this as disappointing.

History

Althos' divine realm has actually existed as long as he has, though that is something that he is only partially aware of. That said, for the first few months of his life he didn't use his divine realm. It was only when he negotiated the contract he signed with Morehammer that his divine realm saw usage for the first time.   The inhabitants of Torus who fled the planet, choosing to believe the Eternal Emperor, who had lied about the creator of dwarves, were taken into his undesigned divine realm. Althos' realm promptly put them to sleep and then began to be constructed automatically, taking on the shape of their home which had also once been Althos' home. When they awoke after fleeing into the portals it was to a mirror of their homes, or rather a mirror of their homes prior to the apocalypse Althos unleashed on the planet in rage following the death of Ava.    The new refugees were merely grateful to be alive, and they were overwhelmed with emotion when they saw that they wouldn't need to start over. Neither Althos nor the system has informed them of the subtle changes and improvements Althos has made to the world in the realm which has led them to discover many of the small improvements on their own. That said, not everything has stayed the same.    On the copy of the same continent that housed the ruined village of Florida many of the independent kingdoms and small countries have fallen. Their people have not died, but instead have often been driven insane or transformed into vampires, werewolves, and other tough monsters to defeat. The reasons for this remain unclear, but people have learned to flee that place, and be wary of people from there. Rumors abound about the cruelty of the faiths that have emerged in that place.    Some of the world's oceans have also been deemed dangerous. Abominations have been empowered by Althos' ascension, first into ascendant great old one status, and now into outer god status, and his abomination-servants have felt his boost in their very DNA. They have grown bolder, and to be captured by them is a sad fate indeed, especially if they give you to their Mi-Go scientists, whom are the most fanatical and amoral servants of Althos who roam his divine realm. They perform terrifying experiments for the sake of knowledge, and share their eldritch secrets with both other monstrosities and eldritch angels who have similarly depraved views.

Tourism

Mortal scholars in the universe know of the existence of the Emperor's divine realm, but they do not know the specifics of the place. Extremely few creatures who are not angels or Torunians have been able to even glimpse the divine realm of the Emperor. It was one thing that he is extremely cautious about, as he knows that it is a realm he could run to if need be.    That said, within the realm itself travel is pretty common now that the world is more or less at peace. The old empires still exist but the knowledge that a god chose to keep them all and invite them into his home has been interpreted more or less as a general stamp of approval and even when emperors want to wage wars their soldiers see little point in such actions so they simply don't.
