S004
General Summary
Before leaving Palma Flora, we went to a general store and purchased 3 vials of Antitoxin. We searched for tracks out of town for Ventis, which both Kymil and Ner discover. After 10 or so minutes, we lost track of the trail, and Brasin noticed that in the thick canopy there we various large bird-like creatures. We spiralled outwards to rediscover Ventis' tracks and found that he had changed direction.
Before we could pursue further, however, we could hear a woman singing softly in the trees. Ner became charmed by the singing and moved towards the singing, but he quickly shook off the effect. Samuel and Brasin discussed scaring off the creatures above before proceeding, and so Brasin shot a firbolt at them causing them to flee, during which Ner recognized the creatures as harpies.
Samuel decided to cast pass without a trace and have the group move forward stealthily. Brasin guided us around the carnivourous plants we had been warned about, and Samuel eventually noticed the harpies had moved from the trees towards the ground. Samuel and Ner snuck forward on their own to get a better look. There were ruins where the harpies seemed to have set up their nest, and Samuel noticed signs of a struggle, indicating the halfling had been dragged into the ruins. We discussed strategy and decided to sneak in to get the jump on the harpies before they could eat Ventis. After a brief combat, the harpies that remained decided to flee the ruins.
Kymil offered Ventis a drink and then we loaded him onto Ner's raptor and departed for Palma Flora. Ventis claimed that he had ran off because he wanted to leave the Storm's Edge where he and the rest of the crew were seeing visions of orange eyeballs with slitted pupils. As Ventis fled, he heard the harpies song, which enthralled him and lead him into the woods. We returned Ventis to Ugnar on the Storm's Edge, and we received our reward for Finding Ventis in the Jungle.
As we made our way to the Tide's Breath, we discussed how the crew of the Storm's Edge had been seeing visions of Ukotoa's eyes and how Ugnar had been putting everyone at higher risk than they were aware. Brasin expressed his desire to speak with captain Kaylin Gell, but Nim informed him that she was frustrated after conversations with Ugnar and wished to not be disturbed. Ner mention that Ukotoa is supposedly locked away on his home island, the Isle of Urukayxl. The Tide's Breath departs, heading southwest towards Darktow. The next day, a storm rolls through. Several crew are thrown overboard by the waves and the Tide's Breath eventually strikes something solid and begins to take on water.
