S005
General Summary
Kymil and Samuel leap from each side to search for crew. Samuel found one, while Kymil did not find any. Brasin and Ner went down to patch the hole in the water. Ner grabbed a barrel lid and attempted to patch it from the outside so the water preasure would help to hold it in place. Not finding anyone in the water, Kymil turned his attention to finding what the boat had struck, but he couldn't get too deep because of the choppy waters. Ner brought the barrel lid above board and jumped into the waters to try to patch the hole from outside. Kymil jumped down after Ner and cast shape water to freeze the shield into place. As Samuel watched for more crew in the waters, he heard a craking sound on the deck beside him. When Samuel looked, he saw a large greenish tentacle wrapping around the front of the Tide's Breath. We fought the tentacle and quickly brought it down. Samuel jumped back into the water to retrieve Kymil, during which time he saw a gargantuan kraken with a giant beak. As they emerged from the waters, two more tentacles attached themselves to the boat. The captain was busy evacuating the ship while we fought the inevitability of the Kraken attack. When the battle seemed all but lost, Samuel fashioned a rope to himself and made loops for others to hold onto. Everyone lept from the ship, as the kraken snapped the Tide's Breath in half. The captain, Kaylin Gell was last seen on the ship, just before this happened, and she was not seen in the waters after.
We swam all night.
Flag of ship we encountered while traveling: purplish / iridesence. Belonging to the Revelry. Ship's name is the Sailor's Lament.
Samuel shoots a guiding bolt to catch their attention. The boat turned to intercept us, and they lowered the ropes to let us up.
Captain Elvor, a greenish half-orc. They asked about our destination and captain. They were surprised that the captain tried to make the journey this time of year when the Kraken is more active. We informed him of our captain's name and that we were working for the Vurmas Trading Company. They agreed to take us the rest of the way to Darktow.
We slept basically until the next day, awakening to precise turns as the ship navigated its way through the dangerous reefs, and eventually made our way to port.
