Jean Maulenov (born 2975) was born to parents Mathis and Ghislane Maulenov in the small villa of Levassons in the Rossignol Parish. Being of noble birth, Jean was educated starting at a young age all the way until he was in his early twenties, when he declined to enter into the family business of architecture like his father. He relegated the offer to his younger brother, Lionel, and set off with a small fortune and his childhood friend and personal servant, Ruvaen Ararieth. Jean was particularly good at accountancy, and believed that the distant city of Shawcross Hold in Gerin-Lajoie would kickstart his business interests. Upon arriving to Shawcross Hold, Jean started his business and named it Maulenov & Ararieth after his servant.
Shortly after founding his company, there were many shops within Shawcross Hold that hired his services to keep their books in order. With so many time consuming projects, Jean had amounted around 7 employees that he prided himself with training and educating on his best practices. One project came across his desk from the Shawcrosses themselves - the namesakes of the city - and asked that he personally take care to organize the trusts, funds, and treasuries of the family. Leaving Ararieth the business for the project, Jean set to work on the project for the Shawcrosses. He found a good friend and confidant in Rowena Shawcross, the daughter of the Baron Shawcross who kept the town in order. He helped educate her with lessons and arithmetic, as she was ten years his junior.
During one of these lessons, Jean noticed something in his records of the family accounts that there was a problem - small amounts of the treasury would go missing on a monthly basis that had no details for its recipient. Astonished at this, Jean kept careful watch over the treasury and decided to investigate himself. His findings would lead him to a secret deal that the Baron was making to the Khan of Gozothistan, Khali Taichar, to take Chaluire within the year. Jean found himself wandering the streets of Shawcross Hold pondering the conditions of this conspiracy, and decided to travel to Chaluire to warn Nicolas Boudon of the impending doom. On the road to Chaluire, Jean was stopped by what he believed were officers of the Emeristan Army and was attacked; cowering for his life, Jean heard the commotion stop as he saw that other peoples were standing over the bodies of the supposed officers - women in crimson red armors brandishing symbols of a right-handed white gauntlet, which he later came to know as the symbol of Torm, god of Courage. These warrior women announced themselves as the Crimson Sisters, warriors and adventurers that protected the weak and fought against evils wherever they went. Jean pleaded with them in astonishment to follow him to Chaluire where a conspiracy is forming to kill Khan Nicolas Boudon.
As the story goes, Jean amazed at their tenacity came back to Shawcross Hold and founded his current business: Herolutions, the Adventurer's Guild. Most oftentimes found hanging around the Blue Bird's Nest in Shawcross Hold, Jean is the eccentric right-hand man of Baronness Rowena Shawcross.
