The Maw Throne Assassination

A year ago, the much beloved King Xarndak, along with Queen Elxis and their young Prince Conwik, were very public figures who would often tour the Dragonborn Kingdom of Rachir and be amongst its citizens, though of course under the watchful eye of the Royal Guard.
Upon returning to the capital after one tour, a ball was held in the Palace of Hurthir. During this ball, a bottle of Xesknik (a Rachiri spirit) was laced with a potent poison, believed to have originated from Isk. This resulted in the deaths of several guests, including the Queen, Prince and Balvull, a Captain of the Royal Guard.
Though The Royal Guard and Rachiri Army conducted investigations, the assassin was not found, though the evidence suggested they could have been a foreign agent, working on behalf of The Burakrin Republic, known rivals of Rachir. The Enforcers, Rachir's secret police lead by Commander Balthazar Bolt, are still conducting enquiries in secret, reporting directly to the King. It is suspected that a member of The Dragon Council, the Heads of each of the Clans that formed the Kingdom, may be the real instigators of the assassination, but no evidence has yet been found. As the investigation continues, The Enforcers, along with the King, are pursuing every lead, and covertly reaching out to sources beyond reproach to aid them...
