The Frozen Queen

'Tis said that if thou sayst the name of the Frozen Queen, the blizzard that thou wouldst bring would bury the whole village fer a year. 

The Frozen Queen is one of the most enigmatic of the Binian deities. She reigns over the biting cold of the boreal forest and the snowcapped peaks of the mountains, which means her favour is very necessary in the dark winters. Some venerate her as the strongest of the forces of nature, the freezing winter to Adènèot's sweltering summer. Most live in fear of the day that she decides to bury them in snow, never to be seen again.

Pleading to the Storm

The most common way that people talk about the Frozen Queen is praying for an end to a snowstorm. The day of the first snowfall of the year is always a holiday where the village meets in the main square to thank her for the "gift" and to build a bonfire to keep away the encroaching cold of winter. Many have the tradition of praying to her daily during the winter to keep terrible blizzards at bay and protect their village from the creatures and spirits that haunt the darkest days of the year.

But What is Her Name?

The truth of the matter is that only the highest members of the Kelttrapèn are allowed to know her name. Even then, they refuse to use it for any reason, simply reading it in some text and never saying it aloud, lest they draw her ire.
