Lintin Dwarves

"The dwarves that would later rule the lands of the Lintin Valley were of a golden apaesite, as they were the first dwarves to go out onto the surface. Sret built them for the hard life of farmers and builders, giving them resistance to the fire of the Sun and great strength to resist hardship...Sret came among His favoured race and taught them the rotation of crops, the raising of animals, and the digging of burrows and tunnels."   ~The Holy Tablets

Culture and cultural heritage

  • All Dwarves celebrate Srêtânen every 15 Frostmonth, this being the day that Sret created their race.
  • Shared customary codes and values

  • Lintin Dwarves are a cheerful race, raised under the light of the Sun and in the open air. They are fond of those that show great cheer and are very amused by jokes.
  • At the same time, Lintin Dwarves are the most militant of the dwarvish races, as they can swing a scythe just as well as a sword.
  • Common Etiquette rules

  • Belching after drinking is taken as a compliment by the brewer; the same is not true for food though.
  • Newcomers to a town are often challenged to a game of Frewsân, a checkers-like game that is common to all dwarvish people.
  • Common Dress code

  • All dwarves not of the nobility or the priesthood wear simple clothes, just a tunic and short pants. Lintin dwarves are fond of soft browns and yellows in their clothing. Jewelry is very common, but not elaborate.
  • The noble dwarves are usually decked out in robes of white and black in Lintin Dwarvish communities, with jewelry being very complicated.
  • Priests in all Dwarven communities are clothed in long robes of black and grey, with gold and silver buttons.
  • Common Customs, traditions and rituals

All dwarves share a common devotion to the idea of crafting; this causes them to revere great craftsmen. A few dwarves are writers, whose craft is "wordsmithing" and the writing of epic poetry.

    Funerary and Memorial customs

All dwarves bury their dead in underground catacombs beneath their holds. If the deceased dies away from their hold, their companions must bring the body back to their hold for burial.
