35 - 7/15

After their friendly boxing match, the group was approached by Varossa Lanteri, Captain of the Magpie Princess. Impressed, she offered a few useful tidbits to the party and an offer. First she noticed that Jorth had tried to slip out the back and promptly nabbed him for them to interrogate as a bit of a gesture of friendship. She also knew that while his ship was not in port, some of Barnabas's officers were. If they were to return to the ship, she would help the group attack Barnabas and get it back for Pink. It seemed she had a grudge against the man as well, as he had stolen a valuable map from her, and wanted it back.   First the group interrogated the meek Jorth. He was paid to contract the wererat hit on the party, though he did not quite know his employer, who paid a huge sum up front and was careful to conceal their identity. He did know, however, that this mysterious individual was missing a finger on his left hand and had visited the Harthas Headstones. But before the group let Jorth off the hook, they made him take the party to his home where they took the money he had earned in penance for his indiscretion.   With that the group decided to look for the officers, paying Larkem off for the information. Master Scourge was reportedly doing some shopping, Mister Plugg was preparing to win the upcoming race, and Sandara had already been thoroughly scared by Pink and had returned to her ship. The first was Cut-throat Grok upstairs, who had a penchant for drink. She was surprised Pink held no grudges and after destroying her in a drinking match, lie flat on the table. Larkem agreed to have his servers cart her off so she could find her way back to the ship.   Next the group went to Hartha to find out what she knew. The dwarf offered an exchange, a cove she had her men get quality lumber from nearby had been overrun by what she described as "dragons", and she wanted them cleared out. In return she would share all she knew. The group agreed to this offer, but decided to stop by Baasims Baubles first.   Here they found Master Scourge, Barnabas's Master-at-arms aboard the Ocean Rover. During the conversation Zelem found out he was a bit of a sadist, and sold him a worthless dagger that he promised was useful for poisoning. Scourge was returning to the ship, and Morrigan decided to have Robin attempt to tail him. The last officer was competing in the race, so the group decided to do a bit of shopping before the big event.
