With a few people to discuss matters with before the scheduled meeting with Anders the following day, Morrigan and Zelem set out to do a few individual tasks. Eda wished to discuss something with Morrigan, but on the way the half-elf spy, Raven, stopped her. It seemed Eda knew that Robin had a new place in town, and had sent Raven to find out whether anyone lived with her. At Morrigans request, Raven kept the information to herself.
Eda told her daughter Morrigan of her plan to wed Robin to the son of the Ormonds, securing an alliance with Orlane and Saltmarsh and putting the family in a more powerful position. Knowing Morrigans rapport with Robin, Eda wished her to break this news to her and force her to go through with it. Morrigan knew this plan would not appeal to Robin, and left to consider how to approach it. During this time Zelem took the opportunity to discuss things with Ichard Bexley, Gellans right-hand man. It seemed that it was regarding Marlin Mallory, someone he was already quite familiar with his alter ego Valor Windsail. This already coincided with Zelems current plans, so he departed to contemplate how to approach this.
Back at the Oweland estate the two discussed things and agreed to set off to meet with Manistrad Copperlocks before the day was over, with Zelem taking on the guise of Valor. She greeted the two heartily before asking about the progress at Kennmouth, but Valor lied that their hired adventurers had not yet completed the task. The two surmised that perhaps something was not as it seemed but were unsure of why she was so interested in the port. Lastly the dwarf council woman shared that she looked forward to working with Morrigan on the council, as she knew that Eda had promoted her as interim member. She also wished Morrigans support on a bill to expand the property building area to the north-west part of the town, and Morrigan began to consider this proposal.
The following morning Zelem spent a bit of remaining day at the library researching Valentine Ebner, a Paladin of Muir out of Darnagal who had purged a Hecate cult, reportedly including Morrigans step-father Hector Oweland. He also read some history on the naval engagements between the pirates of the Sea Princes and Bards Gates navy for names.
Before departing, a belligerent Fisherman had come to the estate to express his concern about crabbers impairing the fishing boats with their nets and encroaching on the fishers territory. Morrigan humored him, listening to his plight much to the surprise of the fisher. Afterwards, Morrigan spent the morning heading to her cousin Robins new place, where she was cheerfully greeted by her orc lover Glasha. Morrigans visit was far from benign, however, and the heiress to the Oweland family began by breaking the news. She began by saying that Eda wished to wed her to a noble from the south, to form a familial alliance, much to Robins shock. Confused and unwilling, Robin vehemently protested and refused to have anything to do with this idea. After pushing the idea more, Robin began to take offense to Morrigas support of this, clearly hurt, when Morrigan finally gave her an ultimatum. Put an end to Eda and receive Morrigans blessing, or Glasha would be hurt. Terrified and betrayed, through tearful eyes, Robin gave her response.
Before returning to prepare for the meeting with Anders, Morrigan did one last stop down at the docks to discuss things with Yacksa. It seemed the mercenary company sergeant had a proposal of her own, as she had learned that Morrigan had new council-woman powers. She wished Morrigan to propose the bill to allow construction of the Seaside Citadel, turning Saltmarsh into a naval fort for the Bards Gate navy and a staging area for the Stoneheart Valley Trading Company. In return, Robin would of course be given a high ranking position in the area, and the company was prepared to "donate" 10000 gold harps (coins) to a "charity" of Morrigans choosing. Morrigan thought this an interesting proposal, and agreed to it.
Zelem spent part of the morning heading to the safe house north of the town where he talked to Tifa about harboring Marlin Mallory, who he hoped to break out of jail at some point in the future. Finally the two reconveined back at the Oweland estate to discuss their days before the meeting with Anders Solmor later today. Zelem was apalled that Morrigan was considering taking the bribe, and did his best to talk her out of it, but Morrigan remained steadfast that she felt this idea was sound. Time would tell what her plan was, but for now the two began to get ready to meet with the other council member later in the day.
