After deciding to deal with the kobolds first, the group set off to their caverns. Inside Morrigan and Zelem attempted negotiations, and the bewildered kobolds sent for their leader. After the Kobold Scree arrived, negotiations were cut short when Nessali tried to suggest they be brought to the dragon they served. He unfortunately was not swayed and recognized the spellcast, and a fight began. While the kobolds did some damage, they were overcome and eventually subdued. Fleeing kobolds brought the interlopers attention to their master and after a few rounds, the small red dragon Infernathrix arrived to confront the group.
Morrigan and Zelem, using honeyed words managed to convince the dragon they were there to serve his might. He seemed swayed by their flattery, and demanded the group prove themselves by eliminating the orc threat to his lair, and either destroy or subjugate them in his name, as well as take all of the magic items and gold they may have. With that the group set off, but after sustaining damage in the kobold fight the group returned to rest at the Goblins lair. Morrigan took this time to consult with her adopted father Hector on the best course of action, and after returning it was decided to assault the Hobgoblins rather than the orcs. Morrigan and Zelem agreed that they could convince the orcs to serve them if the hobgoblins were removed while possibly freeing allies to serve them in return for their freedom.
After entering the hobgoblins lair, Nessali surmised that the path east had tracks unlike the hobgoblin tracks leading elsewhere and this could likely be the best course to pursue. To the south a pair of particularly difficult hobgoblins put up a fight, but after a fierce battle were eventually laid low. Before them was a group of captive humans, as well as a gnoll and an orc.

Important Characters

Morrigan Oweland - Heir to the Oweland estate and The Oweland Family, half-elven daughter of Eda Oweland and cousin of Robin Oweland. She is ambitious and beginning her political career.

Zelem - Tiefling, conman and swindler. Accomplice and partner in crime of Morrigan, has numerous alter-egos including Valor Windsail who is considered upstanding and is liked by the guard.

Nessali - The self-important Yuan-ti snake child seems to be food motivated, and has happened upon the group at the keep. With the promise of food, they have joined the group on their new-bound journey into the hills.

Robin Oweland - Now retired from the guard, Morrigans cousin has joined the party for now in search of adventure. She is not as involved with the Oweland family affairs as much as the others, but is fond of Morrigan and seems to enjoy helping her cousin on her new adventure.

Infernathrix - This young red dragon has taken up residence in the caves, and has a tribe of kobolds who worship him.

Hector - Morrigans step-father and worshipper of Hecate. Long thought dead, he survived his ordeal and continued on in the darkest recesses of the earth, biding his time and preparing for the coming of Morrigan. He has devoted his time and energy into raising an undead horde, and awaits Morrigans command as to how to use it.
