3: An Interlude in between Jobs
General Summary
Gillander awoke later in the evening to an empty room and the sound of music coming from downstairs. At first, he thought he was dreaming again but it just turned out the town threw them a party. He ate and drank and took some time to Dance with Faye before she had to return to her studies.
Gil asked the other two who would like to dance and Allura retreated quickly leaving him with Colleen. She was reluctant at first but he convinced her to try it with him. There was a little back and froth with Allura as she snuck off; before he lead Colleen in a dance. He and colleen talk, she's never danced and doesn't really understand it. He explains that Dancing is a form of celebration and fun for friends and loved ones. She doesn't really get fun either but seems to enjoy what she's doing with Gil and they spend some time that way before retiring to really sleep for the night. Gil has some trouble getting to sleep but then wakes in the morning.
He finds the town is empty until he hears whistling which he follows to find Mo skipping rocks. They being to talk. Mo mentions that the Sword was "special order" for him. Gil wondered how it ended up in a shrine to Lolth which Mo didn't seem too thrilled about. He gets to the heart of his needs. Mo is trapped somewhere, and he thinks Gil can help free him. For now, he can only communicate in dreams. Before Gil can help he needs to gather things. Gil then asks what he is exactly, to which Mo says he's not sure anymore. He used to be someone like Gil. Mo then a replica of the statue of Lolth and uses it to parrot her saying she was a dumb bitch. He managed to make the jaw open but then Gil tossed it thinking it was a trap and not realizing they were still in dreamland. they talked a little more and then Gil awoke to Allura getting in her armor.
He had forgotten to tell her about them sticking around a couple of days. He confided in Allura every that happened with Mo. she offers to ask her drow friend about Lolth and any heroes she might have had a personal beef with. He mentions not being too sure about his ability to use a charm spell asks Allura if she would let him try on her. she gets frowny and says he won't be able to and leaves. He follows quickly apologizing.
He talked to them about their morning and his magic to which Faye jokingly mentions he should charm Allura, which earns another frown. Somewhere in the conversation, Gil remembers the statue opening from the dream. He plays with it until the statue's mouth opens and he finds a paper inside. He brings the paper to the girls and it reads "Bring them here and we will take them. you will be rewarded" along with coordinates. They discuss what it could meet and Gil decides he needs to grab a map to figure out where they might lead too. Dalin Forceclaw was the name of the Colister graduate that wanted to start the business. Thom said it was interesting but needed to talk to the group about it.
They decided to go have a nice lunch at the tavern and then go to the lake. the discussed magic and Gil talked about how he just reflexively knew his spells. He showed her his magic sword and a few of his spells before settling into flirting. when they got to the lake, Gil asked Faye what she wanted to do with her studies and such. Faye admitted she was going to go into potions but now very much was wanted to Travel and adventure with Gil and allure (and to a lesser extent Coleen). Gil also admitted he wanted to learn more about Mo and the sword but adventuring with three beautiful ladies was a dream come true. They also discussed putting money into the magic shop and then spending the rest of the day kissing and flirting under the shade of a tree. and Makiel to make sure they have permission to work on their own. they all get washed up and Eat. Faye notes she had a pop quiz, despite being told she'd get a week off. they chatter and then head to the mayor's office and they meet a tall elf: Dalin who they agree to give the payment to set up the magic shop. They discuss business plans and then head with them to see the site of the shop. they talk a little about the docks reopening and the traffic he's hoping to pull in.
That night They returned to discuss the magic shop idea with Colleen and Allura. Allura would rather gold but will go with what the group decides and they seem to come to a consensus to invest. They have dinner, after Colleen goes to Patrol, Faye and Gil decide to go dancing. They invite Allura who declines. The night is fun but uneventful. When Gil returns to his room with Allura they talk. Gil asks to spar with her the next morning, and confides in her he has darkvision now. He confides in her a few concerns but that he doesn't really know enough to know if this all is the right decision or not. He also apologized for their argument earlier; allure says it's fine she doesn't make friends easily. Gil notes she made friends with him and Faye easily but she feels she was forced upon them. Gil tells her he feels they adopted her. He reiterates that he and Faye think she's the coolest. With that, they go to bed.
The Next morning he gets to and goes to spar with Colleen, as she seems to have boundless energy. They discuss the next moves and going to the city the paper in the statue mentioned. Gil mentions he's waiting on hearing from Tristan and Makiel to make sure they have permission to work on their own. they all get washed up and Eat. Faye notes she had a pop quiz, despite being told she'd get a week off. they chatter and then head to the mayor's office and they meet a tall elf: Dalin who they agree to give the payment to set up the magic shop. With that, Allure and Gil practice until Lunch, and then they all eat and have some downtime. That afternoon Makiel contacts them, she gives them permission to follow their leads. He also checked to see if she had hear of [Mo which she had not. He fills her in on the new dreams talking to Mo and she says she'll ask around. She also said she was sending something to Gil.
the next day and a half were filled with dating and training to pass the time. He received the package, a device to directly call her with. Gil goes to talk to Dalin about a map so they can find the coordinates on the map. They determine the coordinates lead to Lorden 4 days southwest of there across the River Thames. Dalin makes sure he knows it's an outlaw town and they should stay clear. Gil tells him that's where he's being led and after that, they leave to get rested up for the night.
On the way back to the inn Gil tells Faye this was better than any book he's read and goes over his list of stories he has read over the years. they return back to let everyone know about what's going on. They make their final plans to leave in the morning.
