The North Galenas

Within the imposing peaks of The Northern Galenas there are more giant holds than almost any other range in all of Faerûn. North of the caves of Talagbar several peaks are pitted with volcanoes making them palatable to the fire giants, while frost and stone giants live in rest.

Frightening Foes of the North Galenas
The most dangerous encounters in the North Galenas are with the Fire Giants, the Frost Giants and the scattered tribes of Stone Giants. There are also small enclaves of Drow Elves and the creatures that they keep in these peaks, and they bend to no master but Lloth.
Of great concern is rend between Faerûn and the Frostfell very near Talagbar, and it is from here that Frost Salamanders occasionally wander into the North Galenas and into Vaasa.
