Tellerth

The city of Tellerth carries the weight of a long history filled with magic, romance and violence. Citizens of Tellerth come from Human or Silver Elf heritage (and frequently both). The bloodlines of Tellerth are often talked in terms of blends of human and elvish. Half-Elves here are relatively common, and can hold high ranks in various houses.   In her ancient history (a thousand years ago) Tellerth was a hub of elvish culture boasting the greatest musicians, poets, playwrights and artists. Stories of lust, love, romantic entanglements with humans (and aasimar and other fey) and hot blooded duels to the death were common. While you can still find great art and even a major Bardic college here, that was a long time ago.   During the occupation by Vaasa, Tellerth was subjected to the rule of cruel sadistic task masters. The city was deeply excavated and searched (for what? none are sure) and her people were driven into the ground. Many skilled artisans, artists, and warriors were killed and a policy of child abduction was enacted. The battles to retake Tellerth did not directly involve the Heroes of Bloodstone and only after Zhengyi was killed did local heroes of eastern Damara have an opportunity to rise up and push out the occupiers here. Many of them fled into Rawlinswood, some headed north skirting the capital and making way back to Vaasa through Soravia.   After the Vaasan invaders were completely routed from Damara in 1366 many Tellerth families worked hard to peacefully transition back to a sense of normalcy. That has been largely successful, but many families are still recovering. Trade has resumed with the humans of present day Narfell and the more reclusive elves who claim the Great Dale and southern parts of the Rawlinswood as their home. There are still beasts that wander in the darkness.   Today, the city is managed by the Council of Three. Consisting of two retired adventures and an elvish matron who survived the occupation, the council meets regularly and has solid plans for bolstering the city and breathing life back into the area. Their plans may hit a snag though, as recently Wizards of Thay in all of their red-robed mystery have visited the city inquiring about working peacefully in, and around, Tellerth. The current council of three is uneasy about what to do next with the request.
