Praka

Smaller only than the capital, Praka had forever been Damara's second-loudest voice in government. A city of tall walls and sky reaching towers, Praka is a beautiful settlement, aesthetically pleasing and readily defensible. Here live many of Damara's true artists, and their work touches everything. Even the regalia of the Prakan militia is richly decorated. In olden times, the head of House Praka was well-beloved by his or her subjects. Usually the ruling Baron would be appointed steward to Damara's throne in the absence of the king. Those days are gone, as the current Matriarch, Baroness Zylvia Praka, is not well respected or trusted.   During the war, Praka was mostly spared any real carnage. The previous Baron and his immediate family, including many of his closest allies, were killed in assassinations and strategic battles with Zhengyi's minions. When the Baroness was installed by Zhengyi, she quickly convinced him not to let his armies sack the city and so it was saved.   The Grand Market of Praka
Praka's markets are legendary across Faerûn. Every manner of textile, material, metal or crafting substance can be found somewhere within its winding tents and shops. That isn't to say all of it is affordable, and sometimes the price is more than just gold.

  What's going on these days?
Rival thieves' guilds have been working further their influence on the Grand Market. The mysterious trader Silith is known to frequent its more fantastic corners. Many scholars have been seen doing intense research at the Museum and Library, a great number of them are not native Damarans. The Baroness is always up to something, and her agents can be seen negotiating, cajoling, or otherwise involving themselves in all manner of local merchant business. Praka's art fetches incredible sums from foreign buyers from across the Moon Sea and Sea of Fallen Stars.   Important Locations
