Slag Lands

Western Slag Lands

The Western Slaglands of the Chamonic continent are a barren wasteland. Very little is found here to the inexperienced eye besides rusting metal and refuse. A cataclysmic event occurred here turning all but the strongest of materials to liquified metallic puddles. These puddles cooled and now are the only signs of the life that once existed in the area.

To the north lie the Lustrous Peaks, a mountain range containing dozens of different metal Ores, and other untold treasures. The East hosts Lake Ionic whose sediment purifies the contaminates that flow into the waters from the surrounding regions. The Grommin Heights marks the Western Slag Lands southern border. They surround the realm gate known as the Leadgate which brings unwary travelers to this inhospitable land. Looming in the west is the Alum Mountain range. They are coated in a shining ore which reflects light in a blinding array that is even visible from the shores of the Shyishian continent.

Flora and Fauna

Little life exists in the Western Slaglands, some Rustlichens may grow on the lower parts of the mountain ranges and pockets of Chainbeatles can be found in crags. Lake Ionic hosts the largest amount of life with NeedleFish, Steel Leaf, and Oxidized Crumble making up most of the local diets. An occasional Goldwing can be seen migrating from the peaks but is considered sacred by local tradition and violently protected.

The People

Huddled mostly along the edges of Lake Ionic live small nomadic tribes of Artisans made up of Duarden, Aelves, and Humans. They are cautious of outsiders but are willing to trade when approached by those of their own kind. They are well-armed and openly carry razor-sharp blades. They are ruled by councils of Master Guildsmen - each an expert in their craft. They are responsible for arranging trades, marriages, and other important events.
