After the rise of Fungal Disease, local scientists needed samples to research and experiment on.
Because of the risk of infection, very few people were willing to enter the fungal forest and retrieve samples. Any PPE suitable for preventing infection were seized and handed out to anyone who would do the work. While the work is sanctioned by the government, harvesters will also demand additional payment from the scientists asking for the samples.
 Zi is a harvester, and the only minor doing the work.
