Inamorata

Written by Sterrestel

Appearance

Malefis’ attempt at creating an angel-like race, the inamorata look quite similar with their fluffy wings. There are a few key differences between Lyraen Angels and Alatheian Inamorata; the inamorata often have unnaturally bright wings, as well as uniquely golden-yellow blood that is caused by the source of their energy. They are the first yudryaen race to have yellow blood.

Each inamorata develops an infatuation with a certain faunis or mortalis, often stopping at nothing to befriend and/or adopt as many as possible. If they bond enough with an animal, they can often take on physical traits as well as abilities from said animal. They can often be mistaken for animal gods or spirits while in Lyrae, as some take on more physical traits than others.

Strength

Inamorata are one of three semi-immortal mortalis' in Alatheia, along with Primordial Beings and Mythics. Due to the fact that they can live comfortably on a meager amount of energy, they do not need to take energy to survive; however, they do need rest and can get tired. Inamorata take in and recycle energy from external sources, often from the Alatheian sun, Naiz.

The wings of the inamorata are the strongest part of them and they have stamina that is much higher than that of the rest of the body.

Social & Cherish Marks

Each inamorata has a certain spot, known as a cherish mark, on one or both wings that is sometimes of different coloring than the rest of the wing, though this is not always the case.

When touched by another being, the mark most commonly causes an inamorata's romantic, sexual, and/or neutral desire to heighten, often resulting in close proximity. This is especially typical when the person who has touched a cherish mark is a potential romantic and/or sexual soulmate.

Although such an effect is quite common, the inamorata's actions and desires can vary widely. It is not always sexual in nature. It can include cravings for a certain taste, desire for comfort, or an item, or even cause an inamorata to act on their more violent desires, especially if their mark is touched by a potential enemy or attacker.

Most inamorata are both demisexual and demiromantic, and the cherish mark only drives them closer to the aforementioned soulmate. Inamorata also have a mental link with all other inamorata, allowing them to know each other without ever meeting, and resulting in a feeling of safety and comfort when another is near. Inamorata most often become affectionate when they touch each other's cherish marks.
