Daeva

Awakening

Devi woke as Aeria on the planet Nix. Seeking adventure, they managed to make their way to Terra of Lyrae, and from there, found themself drawn to the places with the most noise. They tended to slip into concerts and cafes, sports games and parties, drawn to the feel of their noisy energy. During this time, Devi chose to live their life to the fullest, often focusing on fun and nothing else.

Education

It wasn’t until Devi decided to go to terran college that they gained a true interest in making music. With much talent and skill, heartbreak, friendships, parties, and more, they had all the experience they needed. In their junior year of college, they began to release music under the name of Godfather, getting their first big hit after writing a song with a close friend. It was when that friend passed that they managed to release another hit, a song written to honor his memory, and their career truly skyrocketed from there.

Employment

Today, Devi still keeps to their belief of fun, however with a bit more thought and care in their actions and general life. They are happiest on stage, interacting with fans and their band, and meeting new musicians.

Unlike most artists, Godfather only releases an album every twenty years. Each album has over 30 songs, often with similar voices and unique compositions. With their multitude of different voices, some think they must be more than one person, however, they don’t hide from live concerts and are able to perform on the spot. It is not certain how exactly they have trained their voice in such a way. Another odd fact is that Devi never seems to age. Fans often theorize they must be immortal and though this is a widely held belief, no one has found out whether this is true or not, nor do they seem to want to. Instead, fans accept Devi for who they are, supporting their seeming immortality and magic-like talent.

Rather than releasing their music digitally, Daeva chooses to first premiere their music during one of the biggest music festivals known to the universe. Centered around their music, with Prima Donna, their band, and a few other groups, the festival itself is completely free to attend. After performing, Daeva then releases their music for digital download. Fans theorize that the income from merch and music must be what allows them to host such an expensive event without an entry fee.

Discography

Devi has released five albums so far throughout their career. The first three, aptly named 'Godfather' for their debut, each have a different voice and style to them. It is in this way that they show off their many voices, and why fans believe them to be more than one person. Their next album, REPRIEVED, came out loud and clear with new sounds, collaborations, and tunes.

Godfather’s newest album, ARCHANGEL, both breaks from Daeva’s norm and enhances their typical composition. With new voices, some quite shocking and electric, this album is certainly a fan favorite and truly explores Devi’s personality and limits.

Abilities

Something unknown to nearly every fan is the fact that Devi is completely deaf. Due to their primordial power, they are able to feel and interpret sound waves. They can pick out different voices, pitches, sounds, and more, allowing them to manipulate their own voice and understand conversation despite surrounding noise. Rock music is a big part of their personality, as it is felt strongest, both physically and spiritually. Later in their career, Devi makes a conscious effort to include signed interpretation to truly involve their fans that have flocked to the feeling of the music.

Devi is also able to control sound to the point of turning it into a physical force; they can manipulate its form however they choose and they are even able to weaponize it.
