Mistport
Mistport is the city in which the man and woman live, and in which the box feeds.
Geography
Mistport lies on a body of water. It may be a navigable river, it may be a large lake, it may be the sea. From the docks, the land rises slightly to the Hall of the Mayoralty, where the ruling class dictates the lives of others. Sprawled around the Hall of the Mayoralty, thousands of miserable homes and businesses are home to day to day lives of the common folk, who live and toil in the mists, seeing the sun perhaps once in a year and the moon even less frequently.
Ecosystem
The city thrives, in a way, on trade that flows through the docks. The petty folk of the city scurry about trading bits and bobs, eating ducks and pheasants, stealing and giving. The Mayoralty is aloof, so long as the petty folk supply them with power and taxes.
Climate
Mistport is a city in the mist. Dense fog hangs about the city at all times. Cloth is sodden, Daylight is muted. Night is dark and sound is muffled by the fog.
Fauna & Flora
Mildew is the most frequent living thing encountered in the city, outside of humans. The rats and dogs and cats of the city prowl about stealing, hunting, killing, dying. Birds are not often heard. Worms and grubs wriggle from broken places in the mortar between cobblestones.
Natural Resources
The only natural resource Mistport has is its connection to the water.
History
It has existed, much as it does now, for as long as anyone remembers. There have been wars on behalf of far-off rulers, but the city just . . .persists.
Tourism
There is no tourism. None come to Mistport, save by need. Those who do, conclude their business and depart into the mist as soon as they are able.
