My name is Mersinia Lonyn. Yes. Mersinia. As in the Myrtle plant. Evergreen, star-like flowers... It doesn't really suit me, so most people that know me call me "Mercy".
And before you say anything else... yes, my official Class is "Rogue". I know. The tropes. But honestly, it's the best thing for me. Surviving is so much easier when you can simply disappear. I'm not big and strong like my little brother. But that doesn't mean I can't hurt you some...
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
I would describe myself as small and unassuming. Although, the crystal horns and tail tend to make me stand out! I'm quite slim, athletic in the way an acrobat is, though I have enough shape to properly fill a dress.
Body Features
I have crystal horns and a tail, both of which resemble Black Opal. I also have crystalline ridges down my spine from the base of my skull to my tail, and my nails sparkle. It's all really quite embarrassing, really...
Facial Features
I have quite an Elfin face, my Mother says. I have double-pointed ears with green-tinted tips and turquoise eyes. My hair sparkles like my horns and tail; it's short and black but I have blue and green streaks around my temples.
Identifying Characteristics
Aside from the crystal parts? There's a scar over my left eye. No, I'm not telling you about it.
Physical quirks
This is embarrassing, but my tail sways when I start to get annoyed. I also shed crystal dust from my horns and tail twice a year; beginning of summer and beginning of winter. They always look great after a shed...
Special abilities
Currently, I can use the first two levels of Crystal Tiefling abilities. I'm working on being able to use the next tier.
I've also just discovered that I have abilities related to shadows. I don't understand much about them yet, but I know they can teleport me, hide me better in dim light, and sometimes I can solidify them into my hand.
Apparel & Accessories
I tend to wear dark colours; usually black and greys. I also like dark green. My workwear is more a blue-black tone, with black leathers with dark red trims. I dont wear jewellery while working, but my ears are pierced twice.
Specialized Equipment
A rapier. It's not that special, really, but it was the one my Father bought for me.

Personal history
I was born on the road, somewhere between Undalen and Tariad, on the solstice. Sharing a birthday with a solstice is pretty pants, actually. It's always overshadowed by a much more important event. But anyway, I never had a place to truly call "home", just the two caravans; one for us to live in, the other with all the tools and stock. My Father and Mother even managed to figure out a way to install some of the larger tools, like the lathe, onto the side so that it folded in and out for easy transportation. We had five horses at any one time, though more often than not, one of them was a chunky-ass pony rather than a proper horse. The others were draught horses. I learned to ride and drive carts and caravans very early, and I became adept at moving across small pieces of wood on moving vehicles!
My brother was born when I was four. I helped look after him, often changing his nappy or keeping him entertained while my parents split their time between us and work. We were never neglected, but it was a tough life. We never really had a chance to make friends. Or at least, I didn't. I was... shy isn't the right word, but I definitely didn't find it easy to open up to people. Not because I didn't like people or anything, but because leaving people behind... it always hurt more than I ever let on. I don't like that feeling. My brother was always a people-person; cheeky, charming and witty, often at my expense! But it was always nice to know we had each others' backs.
I learned carpentry from my parents. I also learned bookkeeping and business management from my Mother. From my Father, I learned some basic self-defense and, interestingly, some acrobatics! I'm actually quite the gymnast, though my form probably isn't show-grade! It gets me by.
When I was 24, my brother and I had to leave our parents. I can't tell you why, as it's not my secret to tell.
We told them we wanted to try being self-sufficient for a while, to take what we had learned from them and apply it to something new. We told them we were going to become couriers for a bit, explore and experience Tordronnen, then make a decision on what to do later. That's... not exactly what we did.
We travel, sure. But we're Mercenaries, not couriers. More lucrative. I also partake in theft, burglary and suchlike. Fallon... he does what he does. Usually gambling. Badly.
I try not to get mad at him, he's not exactly the forward-planning type. But we need money. Badly. What's happened is serious, and I don't know when the money we have will stop being enough to grease palms and pay off debts.
Education
I was "home-schooled" by my parents. I learned carpentry, business, maths, logistics, and some sociology. I can speak Common and Infernal, and I learned to use rapiers, shortbows, daggers and spears.
Employment
I formerly helped my parents with their merchant carpentry business. Now I'm freelance as a Mercenary and Thief-for-Hire.
Taboos
I never knowingly or willingly hurt children. That's just wrong, no matter how dickish they are.

I'm good with maths, business and investigations. If you're in a negotiation, I'm a strong ally to have as I'm damn good at bartering.
However, I'm no good in other social situations, and I don't make friends easily.
Likes & Dislikes
I like reading, and I like rabbits. I've also recently developed a liking for crows. My favourite colours are dark green and gold.
I don't like snakes. They scare me. A lot. As in... I will probably freeze up and cry, or scream and run away.

I've never been on a date with anyone - most folks would consider that a quirk. I've also never kissed anyone.

Contacts & Relations
I keep my contacts quiet, though there's generally one in each city that acts as a central point for me. For example, everyone in Osthaven knows that "Misty can be reached through Tord der Bakker." It's the one thing I ensure all my contacts know.
Tord is almost like family. He knew our parents before I was born, though I don't know if they know he was a bloodthirsty mercenary for the longest time! His wife and daughter are lovely to me, and he always has my back.
Family Ties
I currently travel with my younger brother, Fallon.
Our parents are still alive, and are merchant carpenters who travel the country.
Religious Views
I don't hold much stock in the Gods. I don't think they care much about me either. They never saw fit to answer my prayers when I was younger.
Social Aptitude
Ha! Yeah, I have none of this. My brother got all the social charisma. I was left an awkward and unwanted husk. Get me in a business situation and I'm the person you want, but for everything else... just leave me to be a wallflower. It's better that way.
Hobbies & Pets
I like to whittle silly wooden objects when I have nothing else to do. It keeps my hands and mind busy.
Speech
I have an Infernal accent, which I picked up from my parents. I sometimes intersperse Infernal into my Common, usually to swear or when I use nicknames.
