Veren (a.k.a. Magpie)
I met Magpie in Osthaven, not long after leaving my parents. He caught me on the rooftops. Warned me off the window I was picking, then attempted to warn me off the rooftops as a whole, saying they were "his". I told him thanks for the advice, but I'm pretty sure the owner of this property doesn't bother waltzing onto the roof to warn off thieves. I told him I didn't care who he was, or that he thought he owned these roofs, I had a job to do. That seemed to amuse him. As it turned out, he had a job there too; we both needed different things which was lucky. And then things... went from there.
Of all my contacts, Magpie is the one I tend to see the most, other than Tord. But where Tord is near enough family, Magpie is... something else. We always seem to find each other, whenever I'm in the city, and we share our solo jobs quite a lot. I'm not entirely sure how much his brother knows about that, or even if he's meant to be sharing them with me at all, but I do appreciate the extra cash. Like all my contacts, I keep his identity quiet, even from Fallon, but this one... Magpie I especially keep quiet. I owe him a lot; more than I would ever dare to admit. It's why I never visit him empty-handed. I always have to bring something for him, otherwise... well... what good am I really, if I have nothing to offer?
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
I would say that Magpie is tall, athletic and agile. He's not big and bulky like either of our brothers, definitely of the leaner sort, but I wouldn't want to cross him in a fight. In part because I know he's quick, and in many ways, that's worse for an opponent.

Facial Features
Alright, yes, he's a handsome guy. But pretty much everyone will tell you that. Well made cheekbones. Good jawline. The gold eyes are probably the most striking thing though...
Identifying Characteristics
The pointy ears of a half-elf, the gold eyes, and the silver hair streak. Once you know who he is, it's hard to forget the Magpie...
Physical quirks
He has scars... at least... he thinks they're scars. He doesn't remember how he got them. But I've seen them on his face, down the back of his neck, and on his hands. I don't know if there are more. I didn't ask.
Special abilities
I can't tell you. Trade secret. But they are useful. Saved my life once. Possibly twice... though the first time was more of a... saved me from getting arrested...
Mental characteristics
Employment
Magpie and Raven are both 3rd-in-Command of the Tipped Wings, operating out of the Shrewd Lady Tavern. Magpie has been with them since he was fifteen, later than he was supposed to join, because of the time he fell off a roof and broke his leg.
Mental Trauma
Something happened to him and Raven when they were kids. It left Magpie with his scars, but Raven won't talk about what happened, not even to Magpie. Magpie doesn't remember anything before being in Osthaven, and in pain from those scars. Sometimes though, he says he thinks he can remember a woman with red hair, but he doesn't know who she is.

I know he likes music. Orchestra. How he came to hear that kind of thing... I'm honestly not sure, and neither is he. So he says at least.
He also likes shiny things. I think that's where the name "Magpie" came from, to be honest, and it's probably a good thing that my horns and tail are physically attached to me...

He can't resist sparkly things. He's easily distracted by them. In fact, he recently told me about a time when he was a teenager and this particular vice saw him break his leg; he fell off a roof while following something particularly sparkly.

Magpie has contacts throughout the city of Osthaven. He's pretty high up in the Tipped Wings, so he has a lot of access.
As for relations... I'd rather not think about that kind of thing. It makes me feel... bad.

Magpie has a brother who goes by the name "Raven". He's a bit stupid, but handy to have around.

Charismatic. Confident. Cheeky. Utterly infuriating while simultaneously being the best company you will ever find...
What? No... I don't like him. I tolerate him. Business is business.
Hobbies & Pets
Magpie likes to feed the city crows. They all know him now, and seem to have adopted him, in a funny way. They follow him around, waiting for food.
