The Forgemaster's Apogee is a longsword desgined and created by Gidarr, Archdevil of pride and ruler of the fourth layer of the Nine Hells. The sword is his favoured weapon, and he considers it his finest work. The blade is decorated, inscribed with unholy runes and created with infernal metals. The hilt is perfectly suited to the hand of Gidarr, and the sword is capable of changing size to match its creator's current form. The sword is a source of and the object of much of Gidarr's own pride, as he claims that it is the best weapon ever to have been made. The veracity of this statement is up for debate.
Purpose
THe Forgemaster's Apogee was created as a conduit for Gidarr to channel the worship and sacrifice of his followers into one grand artifact, a weapon of his own creation. The sword is said to be indistructable, the pinnacle of blacksmithy, completely unmatched by the work of any other smith. Of course, this information comes from Gidarr and his followers, who are known to be more than a little biased towards the archdevil to whom they are devoted.Abilities
The Forgemaster's Apogee runs on souls. The more souls that Gidarr owns, the more souls the fuel it, the more powerful it is. In Gidarr's current state, the blade on its own is capable of killing a few greater devils, and can slice through mortals or lesser devils as though they aren't even there. However, Gidarr does not use his sword much. Rather, he elects to have it on display, showing it off to anyone and everyone within the realm over which he presides.
