Spark Magic

Effect

Spark magic is entirely reliant on a user's magical spark's power and is the oldest, most pure known form of magic. One is either born with the power or they aren't. As a result, the magic is very personal. One's emotions are the main conduit for their spellweaving power. The Salamander race were the first in modern times to master this magic, calling it "rage magic" as they are able to use their anger to create firey infernos. Samuel Eshpard was the first in modern times to use Spark magic other than rage magic, and the first modern non-salamander to do it. Spark mages are often known as "sources" as they are uniquely able to conjure magical energy just from inside themselves. The term "source" has also evolved to "Sorcerer" for these types of mages.

Side/Secondary Effects

As the magic is based on emotion, heightened feelings may create undesired effects. Dangerous storms and lightning while in grief, fireblasts and explosions while angry, time slowing down when panicked, etc. The more control one has over their own emotions, the more control they have over their own magic.

Manifestation

Being that Spark magic is so personal, the magic itself takes the form of the user's own perception of their magic. If they feel that they are dangerous and wild, their magic will be more widely sweeping and hard to control. If they view their power as something that they are in absolute control of it will be more precise and reserved.

Discovery

Famous Spark Mages include Samuel Eshpard, Trogdor, Aien Yinvyre, Flare, and Lykil Lux
