A Gerudo Shadow Huntress, Masika is a hunter of extraplanar dangers -- specializing in counter-assassination of Zal'saar agents. She also happens to be the mother of Talitha, though the two have not spent much time together.

Youthful Adventures
Masika was born into the Kotarai tribe, and, unlike most of her magically gifted people, Masika was drawn more to martial combat. She was trained as a desert ranger, shifting seamlessly between dual sabers and a longbow to adapt to combat at any range -- and to traverse great distances without need for resupply. Much like Talitha, she was eager and excited to explore the world beyond the Gerudo lands, and left the Innagos Desert at a young age. She traveled to every nation at least once, though spent most of her time working as a freelance warrior in southern Verden. She carried herself as grim, professional soldier. Very serious. Straight to the point. Until...Falling in Love With Tiras
While adventuring in Uradiel, Masika began a relationship with Tiras, the younger brother of Divine Guardian Ishaak VI. Tiras was nothing like the rest of his family. He was eloquent, keen to meet new people, and fond of learning about other cultures. A natural diplomat and peacemaker rather than a warrior. She was impressed by his ability to bravely venture into dangerous situations without a single weapon, resolving conflict through only his words. Though Masika is loathe to admit it, she defied Gerudo tradition of having casual affairs with outlanders and developed..... ugh..... genuinely deep romantic feelings for him. She intended to introduce Tiras to their daughter and returned to Uradiel a few years later. Instead, she learned that Tiras has been assassinated by the Zal'saar. To prevent a peacemaker from undermining the warlike nature of Ishaak VI and bringing stability to a region the Zal'saar wanted locked in conflict. Grief giving way to pure rage, Masika accepted an offer to join the Shadow Huntresses, an organization devoted to killing agents of the Zal'saar (along with other extraplanar threats). Masika surrendered her tribal affiliation and was subsequently given advanced training at Riftbreaker's Fortress, the headquarters of the Huntresses. She spent years studying fiends, aberrations, and other otherwordly creatures. Working alone most of the time, she roamed the desert and cities abroad, hunting for creatures and Zal'saar agents. Gerudo mothers spend most of their time fighting or traveling abroad, making the most of their healthy years before returning to care for the tribe as a whole. As such, Talitha and Masika did not spend time together. Running into each other in Van'Duras was a mutual surprise to both women. Especially since Masika has just shot Nôx through the chest with a high powered longbow. Masika had been tracking another Zal'saar agent into Van'Duras after intercepting a dead drop message. And then just so happened to run across the party as they entered town. She immediately dropped everything to kill the man who she thought had murdered Tiras. Only to find out afterward that this was not, in fact, the case. She awkwardly apologized for the almost-assassination later. She has since agreed to help the party storm Estuvaris, intending to stop their experiments in dangerous planar travel. And she may indeed have a soft spot for her daughter. Who is equal parts deadly warrior and charmer. Like both parents.
