Hematite
The oldest standing city.
Demographics
A city of Scholars, Hematite is split up into five districts. The central palace district is home to the Tower to Heaven, the largest and most ornate structure in the Mortal Realm. It is still nothing compared to the Palace of Obsidian in Architect's Realm. The northwestern district is lakefront property and where the homes of the affluent are built. The northeastern district is where the majority of the mercantile cast plies their trades. The southwestern district is home to the peasantry and those who are not scholars. The southeastern district is the famous district of towers, where the great mages of the age research the secrets of magic and try to unlock the Birthright of Mankind.
Government
Hematite is ruled by the seven. The seven are the seven most powerful wizards of the age, Mortals and immortals alike. Architect and Timekeeper are both honorary members, but the seven mortals are the ones who rule the kingdom with an iron grip. While not perfect, the seven are masters of their trade.
Defences
The Iron Legion defends the Great Wall of Unbending Will with dedication that borders on obsessive. No invader has ever crossed the heavily armed titanium walls.
Industry & Trade
Hematite is the hub of trade in the world and exports minerals and technology. Their main imports are alcohols and magical tomes.
Infrastructure
Hematite is the center of industry in the world and is home to technological marvels like the Great Gates of Kelkattany.
Assets
Hematite is supplied by the Red Hills to the north and provides most of the mineral wealth in the world. Unlike the other kingdoms, they have never been uprooted and so have well established supply lines. The city and kingdom is completely self sufficient.
Guilds and Factions
The Philosopher's Guild and the ancient Order of Sages both call Hematite home. The Blademasons and Stonemasters both maintain a presence in the capital as well.
History
Hematite was founded before the Eternal War and is the oldest city in the Mortal Realm.
Architecture
Natural colors predominate the city, with lots of flashy gold, silver and even emerald and other gems. The buildings are all made from the surrounding bedrock and have a slightly orange tint.
Geography
Hematite sits on the edge of the Stranded Sea, a massive lake fed by the Deathward Mountains.
