The Locked Altar

Surrounded by magma falls, in the center of the burning lake lays the Locked Alter. Its initial purpose is lost by time, yet it now functions as a hold for one of the Ascension Keys. The way it lays sheltered within the lake keeps anyone or anything from simply flying in. Those who have tried were swallowed by a raging inferno that appears when anyone approaches the altar. This leaves the bridge connected to Eagor's Watch as the only way to reach the altar. The altar is an ancient construct made in a circular shape, with in its center the ascension key is placed in a pedistal. For those who seek to claim the key, a final guardian will stand in their way. A vicious creature, the Sentinel of Ascension will defend the key with its life.
