Solus the Bright
Solus the Bright is adopted as the unofficial main deity of the Argonian Empire. He is closely associated with the sun itself, earning him the nickname "the Bright". Solus reigns over the domains of light, prosperity, success, and greatness. Chronically, Solus never speaks or gestures, his mere presence is enough to convey his intent and judgement.
Worship
The followers of Solus are usually those of higher standing in society, as well as the ambitious. Offerings to Solus are usually not made using material objects, but rather oaths. One promises or swears to achieve something great or impressive when praying to Solus, and is then expected to fulfill this promise. Those who succeed satisfy Solus and are granted his favor, further lamenting their success. Those who fail, however, are said to anger Solus by breaking their vows, making it harder for these people to achieve something from thereon. It is for this reason that few prayers are ever bestowed upon Solus, only thanks is given. Those who do pray to Solus and manage to fulfill a grand promise to him are often granted the title of "great". These grant promises are performed in public or amidst a select company, unlike offerings to most other gods, which are seen as private affairs.Appearance
Solus is usually displayed as a male figure who is bare-chested, wearing robes below his waist. He is engulfed in a radiant light, much like the sun, which leaves only his figure visible, hiding any and all details. He wields a spear, which is the only part of his appearance that doesn't radiate a bright light.Solus the Bright | |
