Regus Strongarrow

Ragus Strongarrow is the head of the Meydian branch of The Hunting Brigade. He is a veteran hunter who spent his prime in the borderlands, making a name for himself fighting the vilest of demons. Now in his old age, he enjoys a more peaceful life managing the brigade in Meydia. Or at least so he hoped, but the increased demon activity has left the old veteran plenty busy. The man has many stories about his time at the front and really doesn't mind sharing them. He usually is very welcoming to strangers who seem interested in the brigade, yet due to the stress of the recent weeks he comes across as far less patient.   Ragus is in his mid-50s, however, he still appears rather fit. He has a scruffy and shaved head. He has an old scar running along his face and a chipped ear. He wears a set of leather armor that is reinforced with metal plating. His frame is very muscular and he stands at a height of 6.3f (1.92 m). He wields a broadsword during battle, always having its holster frame strapped around his back.

Incursion of Daradil fortress

About 29 years ago Ragus was stationed at Daradil fortress during a particularly heavy incursion. This assault is seen as the worst demon attack in the past fifty years. Daradil fortress is located in the south of Altara’h province. During a stormy night, a horde of demons appeared out of nowhere, unspotted by any of the brigade's scouts. The demons broke through the first defenses of the fortress, whipping out a lot of the hunters stationed there. At the time, Ragus was in a squad of 12 hunters, led by the legendary hunter Argus Greyborn. The inner fortress was under siege by the demons, which included a giant pit fiend. The pit fiend formed the greatest threat as it would surely break through the fortress' defenses before reinforcements could arrive. As such, Argus Greyborn volunteered to deal with the pit fiend before it could reach the inner gate. His squat chose to follow their leader, heading past the safety of the inner walls. The hunters were able to take down the pit fiend, however, not without casualties, including Argus Greyborn. With the pit fiend dead, the remaining garrison managed to hold out, eventually slaying the incursion.

Chasing the Skull Lord

Five years after the incursion of Daradil fortress, Ragus had just become a captain within the Hunting Brigade. Ragus was leading a squat to investigate reports of strange happenings around a village in the west of the empire. Eventually, the hunters discovered that the village was being controlled and enslaved by a Skull Lord who was pretending to be the mayor of the town. The hunters managed to defeat the skull lord, however, the creature managed to get away never to be seen again.

Death of the white dragon

During his early thirties, Ragus acted as second in command for a fortress located on the western frontier. The fortress was positioned close to a giant mountain range that was home to an adult white dragon. The dragon had caused major problems for settlements along the mountain range, even attacking the fortress two times. At some point, Ragus petitioned to lead a hunting party to track down and kill the dragon. Being approved by his superiors, the huntsmen set out to slay the drake. After traversing the mountains for five days, they eventually found the dragon's lair. When the creature returned to its cave, the hunters ambushed it, killing it soon after. It is said that Ragus heroically got the killing blow on the dragon by throwing a spear into its mouth while it was about to unleash an ice breath. This event secured Ragus with the title of master, a recognition by the brigade that few hunters ever get. Ragus was also awarded the title of dragon slayer by the emperor at the time.

Encountering the Tarrasque

A few years before his retirement, Ragus was leading an operation in the northern part of the empire. During one of the scouting sessions, he and his party encountered the legendary Tarrasque. Although he did not dare to engage the goliath, remaining hidden until the creature had passed, Ragus was the first-ever person to register the beast's presence using an identification spell.
