Pod of Greed
A large green jar with a scary-looking face on its front and blue decorations. The face is grinning ominously. It is not possible to look far into the pod as it is filled with a thick mist. When trying to remove the mist, the jar will be refilled quickly, too fast to be able to see the botom.
Any item dropped in the jar has a chance of being duplicated or consumed. Any person may only try this once a day, the jar will be able to recognize if an individual has already dropped in an item that day. Dropping in an item for a second time in a day will cause it to just be consumed. When placing an item into the jar, the player rolls a d20. Any even roll causes the item to be duplicated, any odd roll causes the item to be consumed. When a 20 is rolled, the jar will produce an additional copy of the item. Copies of magical items do not inherit the magical effect, becoming just plain copies of the object. Objects larger than the pod can be dropped into it as well, as long as they fit through its opening.
Whenever the jar duplicates an item, green mists will expel from the top as if the jar is overflowing. Eventually, the mist will stop and the jar will be empty apart from the item and its duplicate. The same happens when an item is consumed, however, the mist will be red and a maniacal laughter is produced by the pod. When a 20 is rolled the mist will be golden instead. If an object taller than the pod was placed in, the mist will extend upwards to match the object's height.
