Lightning Wolf Armor

A set of armor made using metal plating, studded leather, and the silver hide of a once legendary guardian wolf who could control lightning. The plating of the armor is tinted deep blue. The wearer can feel faint electricity flow through the armor which may be uncomfortable at first but becomes unnoticeable when attuned.
This magical armor grants a +2 bonus to your AC. During attunement, the wearer can give the armor the properties of any medium or heavy armor of choice.
As a reaction when you are hit by an attack, you can speak the armor's command word, and it will release a lingering field of electricity around it. The electricity does no harm to you, but any creature that hits you with a melee attack or starts its turn within 5 feet of you takes 2d6 lightning damage. The electricity lasts for 1 minute or until you dismiss it as a bonus action. The armor has only one charge. You can recharge the armor every night by infusing your magic power into it for the duration of a short rest. You do not need full concentration for this, but any mentally taking tasks or major distractions will disrupt the process.
