Dismay Between the Guard and the Brigade

Alongside the heightened demon activity, struggles have arisen between the Hazegate garrison and the Meydian branch of The Hunting Brigade. In particular between the guard's captain Gilbert Boarhead and the Brigade’s branch head Galdrus Robus. The conflict is rooted in captain Boarhead’s refusal to aid the brigade in their excursions to patrol the lands of Meydia and hunt down any stray demons. The captain argues that he and his man should remain in the capital in order to protect it from any potential assault on the city by a pack of demons. Galdrus finds this decision stubborn and ignorant, having explained to the captain that the demons they have encountered so far are stray demons, incapable of higher thought or cooperation. Still, the captain refuses to send help, unwilling to take Galdrus’ word. This is particularly frustrating for Galdrus given that his men were few already before the demons showed up and now they can barely manage. They aren’t even able to help out the Miner’s Guild with the demon occupation of Blue Path Mine.
