Copper Golem

A medium-sized construct made out of primary copper, standing slightly taller than an average human. These golems were made in the image of men, being built as to resemble a muscular athlete. Their outer plating covers a framework of metal rods, leaving the golems mostly hallow from the inside. A cavity in their chest can be exposed to reveal the location of a golems core, comparable to other golems.   The golems were designed to act as autonomous slaves or servants, unwillingly following the commands of their master or of the settlement that houses them. Despite possessing an ability to make logical and complex decisions, they do not possess the ability to form new thoughts, making them explicitly useful for manual labor but possessing no aptitude for the arts and sciences.   Due to the well-known tale of a specific golem, these constructs are commonly referred to as kin of Talos.

Traits

  • Lightning Rod: Whenever a ranged attack that deals lightning damage targets a creature within 20 feet of the copper golem, that attack then hits the golem. Whenever the golem takes lightning damage, the next creature to hit it with a melee attack with a metal weapon takes 1d8 lightning damage.
  • Corrosion Susceptibility: Copper is a metal highly susceptible to corrosion. When the golem takes acid damage it must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or have its AC reduced by 3.
  • Immutable Form: The golem is immune to any spell or effect that would alter its form.
  • Magic Resistance: The golem has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
  • Construct Nature: The golem doesn’t require air, food, drink, or sleep.
  • Unrestrained: The golem has advantage against being grappled or any checks that may result in the golem becoming restrained.
  • Charger: When the golem uses the Dash action, it may spend its bonus action to make a Strike attack or to shove a creature. If it moves at least 10 ft. in a straight line immediately before taking one of these bonus actions, it either gains a +5 bonus to the attack’s damage roll or pushes the target an additional 5 ft.

Actions

  • Multiattack: The copper golem makes three unarmed strikes.
  • Strike: Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., 1 target. Hit: 10 (1d10 +5) bludgeoning damage.
  • Slam: Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., 1 target. Hit: 25 (4d8 +7) bludgeoning damage. On a hit, the target must succeed a DC 15 STR saving throw or fall prone.
