Cloud Breaker

A wooden shield with metal and electrum ridges and decorations. Its center portrays a heavenly eye. Despite its size, the shield was once a relic of giants who lived above the clouds. Its origin, however, goes back to the divine.   The shield may hold up to 5 charges which can be used to take any of the actions below. At the end of a long rest, the shield regains 1d4 +1 charges.
  • Cloud Call (1 charge): You bash your shield, making a melee weapon attack against a creature within 5 feet of you, dealing 1d6 plust your Strength modifier of bludgeoning damage on a hit. Regardless if you hit, you may create a 20 feet tall, 10 feet radius cylinder of clouds centered at any spot within a 30 feet range of you that you can see, but it must cover the targeted creature as much as possible. By spending an additional charge, you may increase the height and radius of the cloud by 10 feet whenever triggering this action. You may trigger this as a reaction if a creature misses you with an attack roll that is no more than 3 below your AC.
  • Cloud Burst (2 charges): Your legs are enhanced for 6 seconds, allowing you to make a high jump from a standing position that is 5 times your normal high jump capability as if you had a 10 feet running start. At the height of your jump, you may choose to crash down with the shield, taking no fall damage as you land back onto the ground. As you hit the ground, you create a shockwave in a 20 feet area around you, dealing 1d6 Force damage for each 5 feet above 10 you came crashing down (your Strength modifier plus 1 if landing on a surface of equal height as your starting position). All creatures caught in the shockwave must succeed a Constitution saving throw equal to 8 + your Strength modifier + your PB or take full damage and get knocked back half the distance you crashed down. On a successful save a creature takes half damage and is not knocked back.
  • Cloud Surf (3 charges): The shield creates a cloud around its surface, allowing you to mount the shield and "surf" on it as if having cast the spell Fly. This effect lasts two minutes and can be prolonged by 1 minute by spending an additional charge. When taking damage when mounted on the shield, you must make a Concentration saving throw using your acrobatics modifier. If you fail, you get knocked off the shield. The shield remains at its current location, hanging still in the air. You may spend a bonus action to call the shield back to your side. Additionally, you may spend half your speed to mount the shield again. When the duration of this effect expires, the cloud holding up the shield disappears and it will fall to the ground.
  • Cloud Feast (3 charges, once per long rest): You create a vortex of air originating from the shield in a 30 feet cone in front of you. You may continue the vortex for 1 minute. As long as you do, you are concentrating on this effect as if you were concentrating on a spell. Any creature caught in the area must succeed on a Strength saving throw equal to your spellcasting modifier or be pulled 5 feet toward you. If a creature starts its turn in the vortex or moves inside its area for the first time on its turn, it must repeat the safe. Any clouds or fog inside the vortex's area are pulled in by the vortex and consumed by the shield. For every 5 cubic feet of clouds or 20 cubic feet of mist consumed, the shield regains one charge. The effect ends prematurely if the shield is on full charges.
  • Cloud Break (4 charges): You point the shield towards a collection of clouds as a small force of air shoots out of its eye at supersonic speed. Upon making contact with the clouds, all clouds within a 1 mile radius are cleared, including those created by magical effects. Spending an additional charge increases the radius to 3 miles. After using this ability, you must roll a d20, on a 3 or lower the shield cracks and must be prepared before it can function again (including recharging). This may be done using the Mending spell. If an additional charge was spend upon triggering Cloud Break, the shield cracks at a 10 or lower and shatters on a 3 or lower, leaving it unrepairable by normal means.
