Axoltutle
Traits
- Hold Breath: The Axoltutle can hold its breath for 1 hour.
- Cloud Diver: The Axoltutle can swim through clouds as if it were water.
Actions
- Multiattack: The axoltutle makes three attacks: one with its bite and two with its claws.
- Bite: Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 18 (3d8 + 5) piercing damage.
- Claws: Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (2d6 + 5) slashing damage.
- Snatch: The Axoltutle attempts to snatch an item from another creature. Unless the item is actively being carried by a creature, the target must make a Dexterity saving throw contested by the Axoltutle's Dexterity (sleight of hand) check. If the target is not warry axoltutle and can be affected by surprise attacks, the target has disadvantage on its saving throw. If the axoltutle attempts to snatch an item that is actively being carried by the target, it must make a contested Strength roll to snatch the object.
- Distract: The axoltutles attempt to distract a creature by acting coy, cute, or silly, masking its true mischievous intentions. The axoltutle must succeed a Charisma (performance) check against the targeted creature's passive insight. If the axoltutle succeeds, when it uses its snatch action on the target as its next action, the target has disadvantage on its Dexterity saving throw and the Axoltutle may adds its sleight of hand modifier to a Strength contest for that action. If the axoltutle fails the targeted creature may make an Wisdom (insight) roll against the axoltutle's performance roll. On a success, the target becomes aware of the axoltutle's intentions. The axoltutle will automatically fail against targets that are familiar with this trick.
- Regeneration: As a bonus action, the axoltutle may recover 10 (3d6) health. It may use this action a number of times equal to its Constitution bonus every long rest.
