While quite the healthy example of an elf before ascending her time on the throne has taken its toll, with many of the features of an overdue change in leadership already beginning to sprout.

Personal history
Shizu lived much of her early life as a simple gatherer of herbs in the hinterlands of Koheno. This lifestyle was taught to her by her parents and was her trade for 300 years. This all changed however when men of stone and metal began to march in the northern parts of the country. She was witness to the first deployment of the Men of Iron and the massacre of the Green Knights and the previous Regent. This event, The Massacre at Red River, so named as the waterway that cuts through Emeraude changed color from the blood, became the event that launched Shizu to the throne. She dutifully left her quiet life on the border in order to relay the events that had happened, nearly keeping pace with the crimson stream as she ran. As someone in tune with the forests she chose to ascend to the Regency with little effort on the part of her peers. It was by her guidance that the forces of the forest managed to mostly repel the Carthagian advance with little more lost than the land near the massacre site.
