Etherian Elps ("Ether")
Etherion Elps, City of Domes, is one of the last ‘living’ cities this far from the capital of the Twilight Empire, Amerest Adone, City of 1000 Horns, some 800 miles away, on the coast of the Black Sand Gulf, seat of Maximillian Terillian XXIII, Last Emperor of the Neherian Throne.
Etherian Elps is a city of narrow streets welled in by the high stone walls of the thickly-clustered buildings within. Its central market still bustles with trade (and with the riches of the wilderness, legal and illegal alike), but many of the outskirts are quiet, the buildings home to only a fraction of the city’s population, the bulk of whom live in the center city, as if the maze of streets and stone can protect them from the encroaching wild and the dissolution of Empire.
Etherian Elps is also a base for the northern rangers of the Twilight Empire, Legacy. Though in the wilderness they keep to groups of 1 to 3, in the city they congregate at the Tooth & Thorn tavern in clusters of up to 20. Few Legacy druids frequent the city, however, preferring their shrines and hillholds in the wilderness. Etherian Elps is also home to three companies of Moonrise Knights, two of which are out patrolling the roads and borders at any given time, leaving the third to carouse on leave or help out the city guard with large-scale incursions and the occasional riot.
